Nintendo takes sideswipe at Apple

We want to focus on quality, not quantity, says Reggie...

Nintendo's online DSi store will focus on quality, not quantity...

The new Nintendo DSi launches in the UK today and is bound to sell-out immediately, much as any new piece of Ninty-branded gaming hardware always does.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said this week that the company doesn't want "thousands upon thousands" of games on its DSi download store, while criticising Apple's iPhone strategy of providing thousands of games and apps (of varying quality)...

Is like comparing Gordon Ramsay with Ronald McDonald for fine dining...

I dunno, iphone is hardly a platform for gaming connoisseurs

ZuperAmazingCooKie5513d ago

I love how Reggie criticizes the quality of iPhone apps when DSi and Wii are full of the same shovelware garbage, except at least apple sells you the same garbage cheaper.

RadientFlux5513d ago (Edited 5513d ago )

kind of funny since there is no quality control for Wii software

quick thought : it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo was more worried about Apple than MS or Sony.

Nintendo should worry about Sony, since the PSP already offers full games from the PlayStation Store and most of them high quality titles.

TheAntiFanboy5513d ago (Edited 5513d ago )

But they're competing for shovelware sales. Nintendo and Apple are market leaders in shovelware. Thus, Apple is Nintendo's biggest competitor.

Calcio5513d ago

Nintendo to a tee isn't it? Quality not quantity. Apple is all about the money. Think they have a point

WarioWare: The TV Show

LoreHound.com connects the dots between NBC's Minute to Win It and the fore bringing of microgames, the WarioWare franchise.

iTZKooPA writes: "We're not here to discuss how WarioWare was the first entry into the (now standard) party game market. Or how its simple and intuitive design made developers think that it must be an easily repeatable formula; one that's possible to recreate on a shoestring budget, no less. No, none of that is why we are here. We are here because WarioWare's potential has transcended mere video game design, and leapt into the realm of analog games. To my knowledge, WarioWare's simple and fun games have lead it to become the first video game to become a TV game show."

Now all we need is a game in Minute to Win It where the contestant has to jump over an automotive potato.
