IE 8's Poor Reception Not a Good Sign For Microsoft

The honeymoon appears to be over for Internet Explorer 8 -- and it wasn't much of a honeymoon to begin with, either. Just days after the browser's big debut, its market share has fallen a full 28 percent from its peak. Alternative browsers, meanwhile, have held steady ground, losing no significant number of users to Microsoft's new offering.

With "hacked" firefox I can reduce the delay response to signal to 0 ms, thus making it the fastest browsing expierence you can have.

Firefox allows me to use skins to look good for me and feels good too, and is user friendly.

With noscript, I can safely browse any site without opening any scripts unless I give permission

With WoT, I can see how safe the site is

With Stealther, I can search porn without leaving any trace.

Browsing never has been so Fast, Secure and fun with Firefox.

Why should I use IE8?

I just updated my Jaunty Jackalope an hour ago. With Firefox it flies. The final build launches in April.

With this latest news, Linux eating the Netbook market, MS could be in real trouble with Windows 7. If it starts to bomb watch and see which are the first Microsoft divisions that will take financial hits in the form of cuts.

yup. this is just sad though lol.

"Linux eating the Netbook market"

In what universe is Linux eating the Netbook market? Last time I checked most of them are running XP. The only real threat to Windows is Mac and they have got to ditch the proprietary hardware. Linux is not even close to being every day consumer friendly.

"MS could be in real trouble with Windows 7"

I am using Windows 7 and I can PROMISE you it will exceed the sales of Vista. Windows 7 is in Beta 1 and is ready for an RTM right now as far as I am concerned. I definitely was not thinking the same thing about the Vista Beta.

But come on guys who are you kidding? MS is one of the most profitable companies in the world. They are not going anywhere any time soon. The title of this article is flame bait at its' best.(Which I am sure it was intended to be to generate hits)

IE8 on the other hand might very well be in trouble. MS as a whole no. Personally I switched to FF years ago and never looked back.

edit: Care to explain why you disagree???

poindat5535d ago

And wouldn't listen when others warned me about its faults and recommended Firefox. My computer was constantly clogged up with all sorts of crap and the whole browsing experience was slow. But I didn't swtich because I was too comfortable with IE.

Then I switched. Haven't looked back since.

FinalFantasyFanatic5535d ago

I pretty much agree with everything you said. After using vista for a year and a half, it's understandable it wouldn't do too well but I don't see the same fate for 7. I personally haven't trust journalism since the last 2 or 3 years because of articles like this.

Firefox is doing well because people keep talking about it and it gets more popular through word of mouth. So people download it out of curiosity or out of someone else's recommendation (personally I hate trouble shooting problems that people have with IE).

Although I wonder if anyone who is not technically inclined, knows that IE8 was released.

Everyone knows IE sucks. There's nothing new here, move along

dragunrising5535d ago

I am physically compelled to install Firefox on any computer that doesn't have it...

With that said, the people who don't know better will always stick with Internet Explorer.

Shurgs *goes back to browsing on Firefox*

I just want to know how they could screw it up this badly.

XDefiant Console-Only Crossplay Incoming, Option to Disable Crossplay In-Game Prohibited by Xbox

XDefiant will implement console-only crossplay sometime after launch, Microsoft's rules doesn't allow to disable crossplay in-game.

I wish that can change Microsoft step up lol

shinoff21836h ago(Edited 6h ago)

Funny though as Ms wanted nothing to do with crossplay during the 360 when they were beating ps3 early(ps3 was the tortoise that gen).
