Evil Kids: The Phone, The Phone Is Ringing!

TPG writes, "Those of you out there with kids, such as myself, will find excitement in the latest news from the vaults of 2K. Two of the most popular children shows out there to date (Wonder Pets and Go Diego Go!) are out now for the Nintendo DS.

So for all of you out there who share my pain in watching the adventures of the Wonder Pets as they save animals in need and enjoy celery in many cultural shapes, or to all of you out there who have the "Rescue Pack" song stuck in your head at random times of the day, you may have an escape plan here. Your kiddos can now play games of their beloved cartoon characters, in turn freeing up your TV and allowing you to get your Adult Evil on!"

My 2 year old would go crazy over this. She's just now starting to show major interest in my videogames. I think she'd really like this

Seems kinda like a waste of money to me.

I don't have kids, and I don't get many of the jokes in the article, but that's great news for parents!

It is VERY good news for parents. 2K rocks!

Personally, I am starting to wonder if these games that are targeted at 2-4 year old kids do any good...

CrAppleton5515d ago

They will for me and my kids.. lol.. It's amazing how quickly kids show interest in what their parents are doing. And if you play video games, your kids will show interest at a young age. So IMO it's great!

I'm actually REALLY glad my kids are showing interest at their age right now. I can't wait to get them involved!

These games would've been great when I had to babysit... Why must everything come too late to save me?

Neco5125515d ago

just the way things work some times

Let's hope these are at least quarter decent, the problem with a lot of kids games is that the publishers are out to exploit the children's trust of these cartoon brands, and this rather than encouraging kids to get into gaming would probably deter them; Teaching them to collect odds and sods (the basis of 80% of kids games) rather than learn and experiment, or do something constructive (Boom Blox, Spore) and these games which do encourage such experimentation are usually good fun for adults too.

WorthPlaying: Wonder Pets: Save the Animals Review

Worthplaying: Wonder Pets: Save the Animals! is by far one of the better kids' titles I've played, and while it's definitely not made for me, I can definitely see the appeal in giving this to a young child for something that he can't get entertainment out of, but he's also learned a thing or two. Obviously, it's not a substitute for some of the more elaborate electronic learning devices or toys out there, like the Leapfrog system, but it's a serviceable DS game that will help to pass a few hours. Adults beware that there's not much here to keep a parent occupied, so this is something you'll only be giving to your children, and it won't really provide any entertainment to you. I'm rating this game on the high end based on the intended audience, as it's one of the best DS children's titles that I've played in recent years.
