Hip Hop Producer Timbaland Lands Deal To Make Beat-Making Video Game

Hip hop music producer Timbaland born Timothy Mosley has gotten into the video gaming business and landed a deal to help in the creation of a beat-making video game after partnering with Rockstar Games/Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO) the makers of Grand Theft Auto.

I can see the potential in something like this. I'm sure many people thought the idea of Guitar Hero and games like it that came before were stupid as well. Let's see how this turns out.

Edit: And Timbaland doesn't just do beats and music for hip-hop. He's actually branched out into pop and alternative rock and such since his early days. So, this could be an interesting mix of a music making package.

Little girl, if you're saying that Timbaland is "gangsta" or any of that nonsense, you need to check his track record. When game companies create games for gamers that is into rock and roll or whatever, its ok and a good thing. But as soon as a company creates something dealing with Hip hop, your quick to associate it with being gangsta, talk like a moron with a speech impediment and white kids posing in front of the camera, as if their on an 50 cent CD cover.

Guitar Hero and Rock Band was made for the fans of that genre of music, as well as expanding the experience to folks who wouldnt normally listen to that type of music. I wasnt into the who Rock stuff either until I played Guitar Hero. Now I own Guitar Hero 2 and 3. Instead of being a d**k, it wouldnt hurt to be open minded.

Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Jay-Z (is either already married or getting married to Beyonce), Ice Cube (probably a bit of a gangsta but awesome raps hmm), Kanye West, Eminem (new album in may yay :D), DMX (very religious guy), The Game (probs a bit of a low life).. if you want i can name many more..

...but I do remember a few years back, I saw a video of Timbaland in the studio humming Promise (Reprise) from the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack on a kazoo, and that made him cool by me.

Why is it that many guys on here seem to have a problem when hip hop figures heavily in a video game. You guys must be in the minority overall, as you can see with games like GTA, EA Sports titles and many other big games, hip hop music figures greatly in their soundtracks and themes and they have been hugely successful. So hip hop must be very popular in games to some extent, regardless of what you guys think or want. Look, there is the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games for gamers into rock and heavy metal. I never see anyone on here bashing these video games that represent these other music genres, not even the guys on here that I know as hip hop fans. If you dont like hip hop thats fine, not everybody does. But you guys dont need to keep moaning and whining all the time about hip hop music/themes being in video games. Look it's that simple - if you dont like games with hip hop music/themes in them, you simply DONT BUY them! The way you guys constantly express such hate for hip hop makes one wonder why you seem so bothered about about a music/cultural form that you do not like or have no interest in.
