Conservative Christian Site Slams Game of Life's Gay Agenda

The Christian conservative website WorldNetDaily has got its undies in a twist over an option that permits same-sex couples in Hasbro's The Game of Life.

It's not the inclusion of the same-sex option that was insidious, it was the fact that in posting a review of the game and explaining her concerns, the womans post was censored. Sorry, but if you have to censor somebody's opinion of your game for some sexually related point of view, they there may be other motives involved. It was the censorship that was insidious.

As a former Christian who's gay I can say that prayer and asking God for help didn't help me like women. I don't know where these conservatives get off thinking that somehow same-sex couples will have anything to do with their own marriages. Homosexuality isn't something you learn. You can't be brainwashed into liking other men.

If one day I wake up wanting pu$$y then I'll go back to church but until then, I wish people would just let people do their own thing and quit shoving religion in others' faces.

How is it a form of control when most people are free to believe in whatever they choose? I know many people who are religious by choice, who didn't necessarily grow up in a religious household. The problem here is the radicals who take things too far. That can be said about any group of people, religious or not. Even fanboys.

I'm not very religious, but I have nothing against it personally. To me, the people who speak ill of it are just as bad as the ones who take religion to an extreme. Both sides tend to say hateful things, but it doesn't mean there isn't good people on either side.

Unfortunately, bad people make poor choices in the name of religion, giving it a bad rep. Don't agree? Then think of it this way: When a disturbed individual shoots somebody and blames it on a video game, it makes video games look bad to those who don't play them. But those who play them know better. See where I'm going with this?

WND is a byproduct of the American Family Association, which is Donald Wildmon's pride and joy. He's been at this type of thing for years.

Does anyone remember that whole (unsuccessful) Disney boycott? That was HIS doing! Oh, and he thought that Donald Duck said "F*ck you" in a 1930's cartoon short "Clock Cleaners" (he's actually saying "Says you", watch the unedited version's scene in question at http://www.youtube.com/watc... ). look, just because the media chooses to pick out certain stupid people from certain religions doesn't mean that everyone is that way. I'm a christian, but I am not going to go out and yell at people for including gay marriage in a game. That's their own personal choice, and they would probably get yelled at for discrimination if they didn't. My point being, most of the christian people I know wouldn't care about this either. If you are a Christian, then accept what you stand for in its entirety. You can't be half-in/half-out. You know this.

You unfortunately can't pick and choose the topics on which you base your faith. The message of christianity is clear with regard to gay people. It's written black and white in your bible-cult-book

You really can't call yourself a christian and then gloss over these crucial topics, while perhaps singing a song and basking in the love of jesus who loves you unconditionally (as long as you're not gay).

The trouble is, that's exactly what most Christians do.
And that, is the true definition of hypocrisy.

I think you are confusing yourself. I don't agree with gay relationships, I think it is wrong, but I am not about to go in public yelling in those people's faces, saying YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!!!! Who does that help. I am not about to force my ideals onto other people. That was my actual point. I know that a lot of christians, like you, tell themselves and others that they are christians, but when it comes to the crunch, the precise details of the faith are smudged, obfuscated and lost to a personal statement of individual beliefs. So then Christianity becomes a spiritual set of beliefs about what suits you, as long as no-one rocks the boat.

Disagree, Religion provides morals and values for human beings to live by. Religion in itself isn't bad, but the people that preach and practice it. The world needs religion to maintain individual identity. If Atheism became a prominent "ism", then we would be ruled by logic, rather than belief: which is the essence of human identity.

Believing that people only conform to a social code because of religion is simplistic. There is no evidence to suggest that people who don't follow a religion don't adhere to the mainstays of what is acceptable in society at large.
Religion also stops us looking for answers to our questions as we can just say that everything we don't know about is due to the will or action of the divine.

I remember reading about a preacher who once said, "Bring me one person (an alcoholic, wife beater, child molester, ect...) who changed their life for the better because they became an atheist or an agnostic, and if you can do that I will debate my beliefs with you.".

And on that note why would one want to debate beliefs with a person who's beliefs permited catholic priests molestation of children.

Many have become better people with more fullfilling lives after becoming athiests, infact there's a direct correlation between obtaining a higher education(ie bettering oneself in the pursuit of knowledge) and the adherence to no particular faith. I'm sure there many people who used religion as a scapegoat to preform actions that weren't desireble and maybe if they have no god to forgive them, they could feel the urge to stop those negative habits... Just food for thought I guess.

Founder of Psychoanalytic psychology. Psychology was around well before then, with tests going back to the Egyptian era. As much as I like Psychology and find it interesting I also feel the need to point out that Freud is alone in many of his views and psychoanalytic psychology is not as popular as many other forms of psychology. Additionally, Freud's views are considered a joke by many psycho-analytics who believe he was over reliant on sex.
So there's some good education. And though I like Freud and agree with the statement he made personally, using him as a quote really isn't that special. :D
