Got a PS3 or 360? Then there'll be no Formula One for you this year.
The latest issue of the UK Official PlayStation Mag reckons the PS3 version's been pushed back to next year. And (surprise, surprise) now sources 'in the know' have told us the 360 version won't be out until 2010 either.
Our source said that Wii and PSP F1 games would be released later this year, but only because Codemasters doesn't "want to piss off the rights holders." Which really fills us with confidence.
Codemasters Online today announced that it is actively recruiting talent for a new development team to be based at its headquarters in Warwickshire, UK. Following the international success of F1 2010 for home consoles and PC, the new team will lead the development of an original Formula One service-based online game.
Codemasters announces release date, platform and details of their latest licensed Formula One racing title for 2010.
For those of you not yet familiar with the Unsung Heroes series, the rules are as follows; games eligible are those disc-based releases that Electronic Theatre feels have been underrated, or treated unfairly since launch. This time, it's the turn of the PLAYSTATION3. Being the Current-Generation machine with the fewest titles – and fewest exclusive releases, for that matter – many of you may be wondering exactly where Electronic Theatre'll be dragging five missed-hits from, but as with any and every console released, there's plenty of ways games can just slip by even the most observant radar...
I agree with Buzz and slightly Conan, but the rest can piss up a rope. Folklore, Genji 2, Lair are my fill ins for those other 3 and the Simpsons game coming in for close runner up.
games cost so much especially where I live it's only really worth it to buy the realllyy realllyy great games like Gears of War 1,2, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, MGS4, GTA IV etc.
Though some games true are underated, its because they get overshadowed by greater games and are really only normal, average but good games.
None of those mentioned are truly UNDERATED games, a truly underated game for it's time is ICO and Folklore, two truly great games that weren't picked up by the mass market of gamers at the time.
I wonder if Sony and Polyphony Digital will add F1 to GT5.
Sure Sony no longer have the fights to 'Formula 1' (such as the drivers and commentary etc) but that doesn't stop Sony and PD from adding the tracks and cars and thus creating a whole new set of events purely for an F1 division.
The Ferrai 07 F1 car is there, I think it's possible to see more and make GT5 a far more fully fledged experience then it is going to be.
It'd be more like Sony to have a 'Gran Turismo: Formula 1' spin-off or downloadable game/add-on. Why give people one game when they'll happily pay for two?
I'd probably prefer a downloadable pack, to a spin-off game. So then it's at least part of the same game, even if you have to pay extra.
The thing is, F1 could be too big an idea to limit to a download pack.
Well, the 360 and PS3 versions are being held back, presumably to make sure the quality is good, but the Wii/PSP versions are going to be rushed out to appease rights holders...
So those versions will probably be crap.
I was looking forward to this.
