Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, AWESOME

SpoonyRedMage5523d ago

It does look awesome and I'm going to be getting it when it comes out here in the UK but I have the feeling Suikoden may overshadow it a bit.

ExcelKnight5522d ago

Thinking Suikoden will overshadow Valkyrie Profile is a bit foolish. One's got Square Enix' logo on it, the other has Konami. Guess which one's better known for RPGs right now.

SpoonyRedMage5522d ago (Edited 5522d ago )

One's hated right now by a lot of people, the other's Konami...

Konami have a fantastic reputation all around, as well as Suikoden which has a fantastic reputation. Meanwhile Valkyrie Profile's much less well known.

EDIT: Plus Square are said to have not made a good game since the merger, which I personally disagree with but still their reputation isn't what it used to be.

...and it's foolish to discount Konami, they have an almost cult like fanbase.

ExcelKnight5522d ago

You're forgetting how Valkyrie Profile actually has advertisement compared to Suikoden Tierkreis.

I wouldn't doubt that a lot of people who are vocal about being anti Square Enix are the only ones who would ignore a SE game. Even in Japan, Covenant of the Plume outsold Tierkreis 4:1 on opening week.

SpoonyRedMage5522d ago

Wow, I may stand corrected. 4:1! that's a lot.

I've only seen a few web advertisements(the same as any Square Enix publlished game, even saw one for Persona 4!). I thought Suikoden was a lot more popular than Valkyrie Profile though.

Sweet. I loved Liberty City Stories despite the city being empty. Those main story missions were tough but fun.

Both Stories games were far better than GTA 3 IMO, VCS being the best and most enjoyable though.

Resistance: Retribution rated for PS5, PS4 in Korea

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has rated Resistance: Retribution for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, suggesting the PSP title will join the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog.

This will def be easier to play on tv than originally designed. I remenber hooking psp to ps3 to use a ds3. Cumbersome but it worked. Its a good spin off.

MrBaskerville702d ago (Edited 702d ago )

Hope we will get Valkyria Chronicles 2-3 and Carnage Heart at some point. There's a bunch of psp games I never got a chance to play.

monkey602702d ago

Good shout! There's few PSP games I'd care to have on current gen consoles but Valkyria Chronicles is definitely one of them

Aggesan702d ago

VC3 doesn't have an official version in english though. There's a great fan-translation though.

Nineball2112701d ago

*shouting* THEY SAID THE GAME RATING..... oh, nvm.

Hauntedasylum8702d ago

I didn’t know this title existed, so when I saw the headline, I thought a new Resistance was being made. Man I miss that series!

cluclap702d ago

That's because it's the worst in the series. It was good for a psp title though.

darthv72702d ago

Burning skies takes that distinction (worst). This is better than that.

Profchaos701d ago (Edited 701d ago )

It was actually a great game probably above the original they gave the character a personality for one.

Maybe your thinking of burning skies
