Rumor: Metal Gear Solid 5 Revealed At or Before E3

Calling bullsh!t right now. The earliest we will hear about the next MGS game is probably in Tokyo for the game show. It was just last week that Konami put a new advertisement up for a new Metal Gear game.

^ that totally depends on how involved Kojima is with MGS5...if he is the director...yeah...no way its announced that soon...but if he is only a producer, and the franchise is going in a new direction (rumored to be more 'western')...I would bet its announced sooner rather than later...

EDIT: the reason i say this is because why take the chance on ending it on a bad note? lets say, hypothetically, that MGS5 came out. if it flopped, gamers would be full of hate towards the game and all over the place we would see people saying stuff like "they should've never came out with a 5th one. should've stuck with a great ending. now we have this bs."

plus, how much further can you really take this franchise? looking back, so many things have changed, esp when comparing the past games to MGS4. what else could be improved, honestly?

What are you talking about? First off, should there be 5 to 8 disk...swapping them out could potentially be shorter than the load/install times that MGS4 had.........Second, I was unaware that consumers ended up picking up the tab for games with extra disc.

With that said....I hope they do what is best for them as a business.

Lol MGS4 sold like 5 million copies. No reason for the next to be multi-platform unless Microsoft pays for it. You know, the usual.

And Metal Gear SOLID is over. Solid Snake took a break, indefinitely. Next will be in the Metal Gear universe but a completely different story with a new cast of characters. I only hope it can live up to the previous games in the series.

The God of War series had it's reins passed around quite a bit and it didn't hamper the quality.

The cut-scenes were terribly excessive and a little boring for me - and I'm a long time Metal Gear aficionado. The content itself was phenomenal, but the message could have been conveyed in less time or in a more engaging fashion.

Personally I would love to see Kojima in a secondary creative/ technical/ quality control with someone else at the helm. Or at least Kojima allowing someone to heavily edit his work this time.

For all my talk though, I'll buy the next iteration of the franchise; 90 minute cut-scenes and all :)

At the very least I believe that PS3 would get the "premier version" of the game. Besides Sony put BC back into the PS3 for Kojima, he sold through over 4 million units, which is phenomenal. Also if you check VGChartz, MGS has never done that well on Xbox. Ironically Spinter Cell has never done well on PS.

If you're talking about when he stopped the boat, it's probably because it was stuck in his foot (Total badass move).

I didn't want Raiden to die, but I kinda did after that scene. It would have been an emotional ending for him.

Finding where Sunny is and being captured by the Patriots and becoming just a 'head' (if I recall what was said on the database correctly).

Being rescued and becoming cyborg.

Chasing down Sunny again and rescuing her.

You are right and wrong at the same time.

It would be a down grade if it was to released on the 360, but MGS5 won't have a release date any time soon 2011 at least, by then the xbox 720 should be out and I am pretty sure Microsoft has learned from there mistakes and will try to make the 720 more powerful than the PS3.

The only thing that I am sceptic about is the 720 having BlueRay, Microsoft has to much of an ego to admit that blueray is the way, and as far as I am concern there is nothing in the market now or in the future to top Blue Ray.

Sorry got a little carried away, my point was that there is a chance the MGS5 goes Multi and giving the current economy, it wont hurt Konami to sell 3 million more copies of MGS5, 360 fanboys say that the game sucks and its a movie but deep down inside they want the game, wounl'nt be surprised if it out sold the PS3 in sales.

I just got the Official PS Magazine a few days ago, and I totally overlooked the rumor because I haven't seen it yet in the mag.

If there will be MGS5, I would want the story to focus on Raiden, and I would really love to find out what happened to Raiden after the "Big Shell Incident", all the way up to the events of MGS4.

Raiden was somewhat of a sissy/pretty boy in MGS2, but in MGS4 he was totally bada$$ as the cyborg ninja.

I have a feeling that MGS5 will be multiplatform, but I do hope it does stay exclusive to the PS3.

Personally, I'd love the next MGS to be a reboot of a new universe. Same characters, new events, relationships, dynamics, etc. Imagine say, a younger Solid Snake and his brother Liquid, not clones, working together in the Foxhound unit with their commanding officer Big Boss. Could be fun.

I think a Substance version or something similar is far more likely at this point then MGS5. They could add a few things in which you play as Raiden and even add in all the MGO expansions as well.

I do agree with it being far to soon for a sequel to be announced and if there is a MGS5 I hope it is something in which start anew with new characters because they pretty handily wrapped up MGS4 so anything further with the same characters would not make any sense.

I heard someone mention a prequel starring Raiden and how he saved sunny and while that would be a good idea I also don't think that could make a game out of itself. It would be the kind of thing in which the story would be too simple for a MGS game and if they added anything in to make it interesting they would risk screwing up the whole series as a whole.

So while there may be a MGS related announcement at E3 I don't think it will be MGS5 it just doesn't make sense at this point in time.

If it really is about Raiden in Area 51, they really had better not end the title with ".. Solid 5." Solid Snake's story is over.
Also I'd really be surprised if the next Metal Gear was exclusive to anything, especially in this economy.
