Vanguard To Add RMT

Sony Online Entertainment's MMO, Vanguard, is to have Real Money Trading added for its players using the same system as the other MMO owned by SoE, EverQuest 2.

Live Gamer has partnered with SoE to provide players with a secure way to trade virtual items including in-game currency, characters and items. As with many MMOs, the game is currently plagued with third party sites advertising currency for sale and other services such as power leveling and account sales.

Another one bites the dust...

This may be off topic. But this is one of the few MMO`s I actually enjoyed besides WoW in the last few years, it is truly a great fantasy MMO for the Hardcore bunch, much more demanding then WoW.

If it takes RmT to keep this gem up so be it, people that play Vanguard are a dedicated bunch and to actually be able to use RMT to you advantage in this game you really need to be at endgame, and if you got there, imho, you deserve it.

in my opinion is the best MMO ever made, but since it had a bad launch and people left before it got a good chance, the game just never picked up

Maticus5527d ago

Give it time. As LotRO and EVE have proven, some MMOs just take a while to get going. If it's good, people will come to it.

Leord5527d ago

If this turns out alright, I wonder if Blizzard would consider doing it for WoW?

Maticus5527d ago

Nah, Blizz will never do it. They've spoken out against it too often.

Fyzzu5527d ago

Oh, God. I'm going to be really interested to see how this works but I can't help but fear it's going to be a disaster. Still, if it actually works, maybe it'll help stem the goldsellers in other games - although they'll probably just lower their prices...

Dorjan5527d ago

If you can't beat them, join them eh?

AndyA5527d ago

At least it'll get rid of those annoying ads.

Maticus5527d ago

That's just it, I don't think it will - if it's the in-game spamming you're on about. As someone else said, the gold sellers will just lower their prices and carry on selling as normal.

I agree when it comes to The Sims Online. That game was really fun and nothing has even come close to it. I still crave a new Sims with online multiplayer. Blows my mind they haven't done anything like that since The Sims Online or even The Sims Bustin' Out on PS2.
