Professor Chaos of ZTGD writes: Tom Clancy's series of games have come a long way since Rainbow Six. Each of the games that are brought out under this wonderful authors' name all have a certain niche in which they fill. With Splinter Cell it is stealth action, with Ghost Recon it is wide-open squad combat, and with the latest H.A.W.X it is aerial combat. First up for those that are expecting a very realistic and true to life flying experience, I'm sorry to say that this is not the game for you. But for those that want to jump on the "highway to the danger zone" like Maverick and Goose, then start to feel the need...the need for speed. (Sigh...I'm old).
Pros
+ Graphics
+ Intense aerial combat
Cons
- Targeting controls needs work
- No excuse for lack of multiplayer diversity
Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. was a series that showed promise, but after 2010's Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. 2, all we have is backwards compatibility.
I remember buying Hawx2 back on PS3 after Microsoft bought exclusivity of Ace Combat6.
So to fill that dog fighting space I bought Hawx2, a very basic game that only had a gimmick of evasion that was overused if I remember correctly. I never even finished the game and still own it and my super slim ps3 so who knows I might pop it in one day and see if I can feel the need, I he need for speed.
There's a new 'Deal of the Week' up on Xbox Live this week and this time you will be able to pick up some great Ubisoft Tom Clancy titles on the cheap until July 29th.
PSX-Sense writes: Last week there were rumours that Sony are introducing Essentials for Sony´s console, suchs like previously done on the PSP. Now the first PlayStation 3 Essentials and prices are announced. Get all the information trough the link.
Well, I don't know if it also works like this the other way around but here goes; When a US price is revealed, they just use the swticheroo and replace the $ with € sign. American price might just be $15 :)
I dont know but... It look something made up by ubisoft, the list contain only ubi titles.
Hawx is great game I like it a lot. I don't understand the "Targeting controls needs work" problem. But he's referring to "assistance off" mode. Could be, never use that (doesn't fit well with the motion controller, either, assistance off, that is).
Oh, yeah, using "Shoot!" to fire a missile through voice commands was stupid. Don't swear if you miss a target. shoot. LOL. (what about "FIRE!").
