Brand new Muramasa Trailer (3/10/09)

Gamer Limit writes: "Odin Sphere's spiritual successor is looking better by the day. The art style looks incredibly beautiful, I just hope that the gameplay will match whenever this game finds it's way into the Nintendo Wii's disc tray."

Anyone not loving 2D is not human >=(

xztence5531d ago

this game is friggin awesome. and its 1 of only 2 games from wii i wish would come out for ps3. the other would be tatsunoko vs capcom.

Chris3995531d ago

The fighting looks a lot less "floaty" than Odin Sphere too (my only real complaint about an excellent game).

Oh and Xseed is bringing this and Arc Rise Fantasia to NA, btw.

Both day one purchases.

Thoreau5531d ago

has a work of art in their hands.

Pizzagaki5531d ago

This would have made a great PSN title.

cyrus2285531d ago

but not in a bad way!!!!! this game is beautiful, just cuz its 2d doesnt mean its low quality and shud be on psn.i still like 2d things over some 3d. like guilty gear or blazblue over street fighter 4 or tekken.

ima be upset if i have to use a stupid wii-mote to play the game, very upset actually

Chubear5531d ago

On PSN or XBLA this would be a $14.99 DLable game. On the Wii it's a killer title for 50 bucks. Nintendo is shafting it's base like crazy and they readily defend and accept it.

That's 'acking day light robbery with Nintendo game prices.

xabamo5531d ago (Edited 5531d ago )

Give it a little time and it will drop in price besides I prefer a disc rather than a download.

IMO this game looks great. A definite buy if it lives up game play wise.

cyrus2285531d ago (Edited 5531d ago )

speaking of which with nintendo's over priced stuff, the wii-makes are getting on my nerve just yesterday mario power tennis and pikmin 1 were released on wii.

now isnt it odd, lets say i own those games on gamecube, i can play it on my wii right? but if i wanna use the wii-mote i have to spend 30 bucks for a new control scheme. its such a rip off. same with twilight princess and resident evil 4. rip offs!!!!

but back on topic, CANT WAIT for muramasa, i luved odin sphere, so only thing that can ruin this game is wii-mote only controls

*EDIT* Sidar
i was just sayin, theres plenty of wii owners who have their gamecube, and besides that they still sell the game cube versions in store, why sell it for 30$ when its just for a control scheme?

i work at game crazy and i see people complain all the time. remakes r fine for 2 gens ago or older, but for a game that cameout 2 years ago??? noooo. dont try justifing urself man.

just cuz its not made for people who played it already doesnt mean people dont wanna play it witht he new control scheme. whats ur excuse for twilight princess then? they delayed the GC version for the wii-port.

making a new tennis game shudnt be hard, its just lazy.

anyway. u always have an opinion opposing someone elses, did u ever agree with someone?

ChickeyCantor5531d ago (Edited 5531d ago )

Chubear, a PSN game would not take this much development time so it would never be 15 on XBLA/PSN if it had this much production time.
You are being ignorant.

@cyrus
You sound exactly like the arrogant type of gamer who thinks its all about "you".
These remakes/ports are not meant for gamers so that they can REVISIT them, its meant for people who missed out. People who are unkown with the franchise. Yes creating a new one is always better but what if people know the prequels, and eventually get the new one.

Capcom is doing the exact same thing with Monster Hunter G.
Square is doing the exact same thing with FF1/2/3/4/5/6.

Nothing wrong with giving games new life.
We can all expect sequels and the likes.

If people enjoy the games we liked in the period we played them, why is this such a bad thing?
If a gamer gets a remake/port but already played it as a different version, its up to him/her. It doesn't mean its a rip-off.

nerubii5531d ago

you actually bought a PS3 to play PSN?

oops mayb im not clear enough. you actually hope to play such games on a PS3?

it feels like a triangle with 4 sides.

ChickeyCantor5531d ago

Cyrus,
So who says a new control scheme didn't need some time? Also how is nintendo the bad guy if those people decide to buy it for such price? CONSUMERS MAKE CHOICES for them selves, NOT NINTENDO.
People having GCN in their homes with some of these game, what the hell does that have to do with any of this? Again if one of them gets one of these games its their CHOICE.

" making a new tennis game shudnt be hard, its just lazy. "

I really think you think that these ports are done by the nintendo as a whole. These projects are done by smaller teams. Who says there is no new Mario tennis on the way?

Twilight princess was a last minute call and was released AT THE SAME TIME. See the difference?

" noooo. dont try justifing urself man. "
How am i justifing my self? who said im getting all these games?
The age of a game doesn't mean sh/t, again look at what square does, don't even compare it to a 2 year old game. Square goes back to 1990 with their FF games.

" just cuz its not made for people who played it already doesnt mean people dont wanna play it witht he new control scheme."

No but it seems that the Wii-motes are such "hot" items, why should the outcome be worse than on how it was on the GCN?
Those people who missed out maybe find the wii-motes more attracting?

Just because i did not agree with you, does not mean i don't agree with no one. You b/tch about Nintendo who rip-off people, saying that people already owning these games, THEN DON'T BUY THEM. Next to that this is not about those who own it, its for those who missed out.
And it seems that the Wii-mote works for them as the GCN controller worked for us back then.

No one is being "ripped-off" its you who can't understand its a consumers choice.

[Interview] Vanillaware's George Kamitani Talks About His Influences And Upcoming Projects

Nintenderos: "We kick off our interviews this year with a very special one with George Kamitani, president of Vanillaware. In case you didn't know this study, it is the one behind games of the stature of Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Odin Sphere or Dragon's Crown. In addition to, of course, unforgettable titles like the wonderful 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim published by Atlus a few months ago."

Japanese games can help bring myths to life

How do you introduce people to folklore and fairy tales? Introducing people to mythology can be easy when they are young or in school, as such stories can sometimes be used to teach morals, introduce concepts that might be difficult for people to otherwise understand, act as warnings and get imaginations working. Once folks get older, it can be more difficult to get them engaged and interested in legends. Fortunately, some Japanese video games can step in to bridge the gap.
