Was the release date for Diablo 3 really leaked? Will GTAIV DLC The Lost and Damned be making its way to PSN? Is a Wii-make of Resident Evil: Code Veronica in the works?

On topic, who knows if the DLC is really exclusive... it could go either way. Rumer killed? I don't know about that. It's unlikely, but not out of the question. Think of it this way: $50 million is indeed a hefty bag of money, but wouldn't Rockstar be missing out on an even greater profit by not releasing on PSN? The whole thing seems wierd. Timed-exclusivity is possible and I'm not the only one that's said that. On the most recent 'ListenUP' podcast from 1UP, some of the guys genuinely think that Lost and the Damned will hit later this year on PSN. But like I said before: who knows...

Warhawk is the online portion of a modern FPS. Not a full game. GT was a Demo. Is it really something to brag about that you get the option to pay for something that is normally free?

Not that I agree with him but those were some very poor choices of games.

I dont think Warhawk should be free and I should have been clearer but Warhawk while not a demo is also not a "Full Retail game" as it was didnt have a single player campiagh. It amounted to the online portion of a modern day FPS like COD or UT. Good game? Of course but TF2 was also fun and I wouldnt call it a full retail game. Didnt change the fact that it wasnt a complete game.

Anyway nice of you to start off attacking instead of just comprehending that those were not full retail games and therefor made the list look poor imo. You're still wrong: Gran Turismo 5: Prolouge is not a demo. Do you know what was? Gran Turismo HD Concept. THAT was a demo. GT5:P has more than 10x the content that GTHD had.

As for Warhawk? You're right. It didn't have single player. It was not a "Full Retail Game" as you say. So you know what happened? It was priced at $39.99. 1/3 less than a "Full Retail Game". Heck, it's $19.99, now.

I am perfectly OK with their remakes. The only thing I might be against is using the Wii remote to point and shoot (but I am sure I would get used to it if we couldn't change the controller layout).

Capcom needs to release more RE games that are brand new installments more often than they do. I think if we at least got REmake, new game, REmake, new game, etc. that people would be more tolerable of their release schedule.

I wouldn't mind if they did one spectacular REmake every generation, just to show off how the hardware could affect the classic gameplay, and show off how they really wanted the game to look/feel. As long as it's just graphically, or possibly changing the environment/adding new areas like the RE1 remake, it's cool by me.

Wii remakes don't count, by the way. Waggle wouldn't make RE better.

well i have some friends in the business, one at codemasters one with sony and one at an undisclosed game company in london, they all went to the same school which I had many friends attend. if you are intrested it was Fullsail. Two of these friends consoled me when i explained how dissapointed I was with the MS announcement pretaining to dlc as they all know I am a huge 3 fan. One then went on to explain how exclusive dosent always mean exclusive and how it would be in R*'s best intrest to sell the dlc to everyone further down the line. I was also informed about bioshock at the same time, I told a game site about that in about june of 08 and was called a liar....that site knows who it is and I hope they are squrming now because of it. anyway this is also something being talked alot about behind closed doors and has been rumored before. Shane Betenhausen (sorry for the poor spelling) also mentioned this as a timed exclusive back on up yours about september of last year and even in the last issue of listen up they (belive it was ellis but i could be wrong) mention how it will be out on psn round november december so that is where i got my timeframe from.

Even if Lost & Damned was FREE on PSN I still wouldn't download it. GTA4 is garbage and they somehow managed to make the DLC just as crappy as the core game itself. GTA was pretty much a PS2 console exclusive. Don't give me the 'it was on PC and then ported' nonsense.

The reason PS2 really took off was only after GTA was released on it. PS2 grew to big hights because of it. And it lost it this gen, where the 360 version sold a lot more + the most complete version, being rated 9.8 out of 10 (source Metacritic).

Strange is it huh? And they praise games like GT5p (8.0 out of 10) and Heavenly Sword (7.9 out of 10) just because they're exclusive. PS3 fans are strange. So what does the PS3 have in 2009? KZ2 generic grey grey and more grey colours with some few red eyes (and yes, I am playing it myself ATM) and what else exactly? All great IP's are delayed again (GT5 final version, God of War III etc).

Alan Wake looks more interesting then anything on the PS3 this year...

GTA is a series that was formally on the PC and then ported to consoles. It was never really exclusive as you even have the old 3D GTA games on the original Xbox. GTA4 is garbage to me because I have played better games and will continue to play better games throughout 2009.

It seems to me like you're just trying to latch onto a year old mediocre game because the 360 has no good games in 2009 so that DLC is the only thing you have left to play. I'm sure you must've liked that Tomb Raider DLC that was purposely taken out of the game so it could be sold to you, right? Afterall, Xbots will buy anything (especially when they aren't getting any real games in 2009).

But wait! E3 must be a special day for Xbots as Microsoft will reveal their AAA exclusives like Lips 2 & You're In The Movies 2. Maybe those will hold you off until Too Human 2 releases.

Mart tbh I own the 360 version of GTAVI and the game was a joke. you keep praising this game only because you have nothing to play on your system and I can guarantee that if there was something really big that was released on the 360 around the time L&D it would have done even worse than it did. I knew that it didn't do really that great because the day after the release (if it did great sales) there would have been articles of Record Sales on L&D all we got was an article about it was the largest money earned on Live, no numbers to say how many sold nothing. The Game was lucky to even sell a million being that it came out over 9 months ago but M$ had to market the hell out of it to give it any sort of attention most people (including myself) moved on or traded it in because they were disappointed with the game in the 1st place.

I didnt like how some people reacted towards games after going multi.
A prime example would be VF5. After being released for the 360 with online compatibility, it was being trashed as "an old game".
I also don't like how people hate square enix, hate FF13, but love FF versus.....

One thing I don't like about Microsoft.. is when they make a game delay...like Tekken 6....omg.. I would have been playing that on my PS3.

I don't think Microsoft would pay 50 millions for a timed-exclusive content, and i don't think Sony would pay for a content that come more than a year after the release of the game. Plus "secret informers" are generally fake rumors. Remember Xbox Family saying a PR of Konami confirmed MGS4 on 360?

There is no way that Lost & Damned is going to the PS3... you don't spend $50 million just for it to not become exclusive. If it does somehow get moved to PSN, it probably won't be until the end of next year.

Diablo 3 won't be coming out this year either, why would they compete with their own game? Starcraft 2 is almost guaranteed to hit either at the end of '09 or the beginning of '10, and Blizzard doesn't need the two games competing for sales. Sure they are two different genres, but I'm sure there are plenty of PC gamers that want both but can't afford both.

Lastly, why is Capcom remaking Code: Veronica? The game was already ported to the Gamecube, and the Wii can play those disks. I guess if they bump up the graphics a bit then it'll be nice, but it seems as bad of a cash-in as Nintendo's "New Play Control." Why can't we just get new games? Or in Capcom's case, they could at least remake something that wasn't released in the last generation...

I've been hating that site for a while now. I mean it's like the program "Mythbusters". They do some stupid unscientific tests and then they go like "Myth busted!" (even if it really wasn't busted at all). Same goes for Rumor Killer. They do their own conclusions and say "Rumor killed" etc. without any real evidence what so ever.

Besides: The real rumor isn't that Lost and Damned is going to PSN. It's that Lost and Damned (and the other gta episode) is going to Ps3 as retail version (on a bluray disc) next year! Why? Because MS paid 50M$ for exclusive DLC!!! Retail version of a game isn't DLC. So that's possible.

I just wanted to point out my hate towards all these sites and programs that present their own conclusions and beliefs as an ultimate truth.

Btw. Personally I lost my intres on GTA4 after a week or so after the game was released but that had nothing to do with the game not being Ps3 exclusive. It's just stupid to think that Ps3 gamers dislike gta4 because it's multiplatform game. For me gta4 was just too repetitive and dull. I'm sure many 360 gamers feel the same way.

Shame they couldn't even quote us properly... we never said anything about L&D coming to PSN. We said we heard it would be released in disc form possibly also including the second expansion at a later time. And then they even have the nerve to try to say that just because no publisher has shown their site, or any of their friends' sites any love, that it's impossible for this "unknown fansite" to get any inside info either... even though our site is partly made up of game developers moonlighting as editors in their spare time (hence the name... PlayStation Insider). The news actually comes from an editor at our sister site XboxEvolved, who has broken many such stories in the past which panned out to be true and who has worked with R* a great deal in the past. Being that this wasn't exactly material fit for his site, he shared it with us (actually posted it on our site himself, rather). Knowing his track record, I trust what he has written to be true.

And for those of you crying "but the $50 million!!!", think about this. GTA3 debuted as a PS2 exclusive. It's success went through the roof. GTA: VC, same thing. San Andreas, same thing. Never once did R* give Sony any total exclusivity (and you know sony paid them for what they did get). Eventually all 3 made it to the Xbox. So why would R* have a sudden change of policy? Why would they ignore several million more potential sales, especially after they just came out and said that GTA4 sold at a 50/50 ratio between PS3 and 360? They stand to make a LOT more if they do release it on PS3 (we'll assume that they sell both expansions on disc for $40, and Take 2 pockets $15 of that per disc... that's an additional $30 mil they can pocket after giving 360's DLC the average 6 month timed exclusivity they gave PS2 for it's GTA games). There's just too wide of an install base on PS3 for GTA4 for them to not want to milk a few extra bucks out of them. As such, in my educated opinion, MS paid for timed exclusivity as well as exclusive rights to sell it online.

Thanks for your comments fr0sty. It's nice to see some insider comments on N4G. I completely agree with your view on economic reasons why R* will probably publish these episodic contets on Ps3 too. I just see a lot more reasons for L&D (and the other episode) to eventually arrive on Ps3 than not to. If you just think about it, it's quite obvious. MS paid for exclusive DLC and nothing else (or at least they've been talking about nothing else but DLC). R* wants to make money. I believe strongly that R* will indeed publish GTA episodic content- bundle (including both episodes) for Ps3 next year. R* has some history releasing gta bundles (GTA3 and VC on Xbox).
