EverQuest 2 players who were eagerly looking forward to the game's next major update were left disappointed today, as developers announced Game Update #51 has been delayed.
GU #51, also known as Elements of Corruption, is set to revitalise an old part of the EQ2 world. Lavastorm is a zone that shipped with the original retail version of EQ2 over four years ago, and is well known by all players of the game. There's also a whole host of changes to spells, guildhalls, UI, quests and achievements, as well as a new dungeon and new solo content for high and mid level players.
During EG7’s Capital Markets Day stream earlier today, EG7’s CEO Ji Ham discussed several in-development projects including a potential EverQuest 3 that is in an early “ideation phase”.
In the “Producer’s Letter April 2023,” the team behind the MMORPG said the new UI Engine for the game releases in April, more Tempest Festival content is arriving in May, and Pride Month familiars are returning come June.
Earlier this month, Everquest 2 announced a new loot box system that bypassed lockouts and provided the chance to buy more opportunities at raid gear through the cash shop.
That's a damn shame for EQ2 players, but Sony never announced a date that it would be released so they can't really be that upset.
That's a bit of a shame. Hate these announcements, though, because I'm never sure whether it means they want to release it to a high standard of polish, or if it's just that it's broken and they need a bit longer to make it barely work.
Delaying it to make sure it's fixed?
Good!
they have more time to play WoW now :D
