Empire:Total War Hampered by Steam, Nvidia Issues

Sega has acknowledged a number of issues with its latest release, Empire: Total War, which has caused users to complain about the game and service.

The PC game is incompatible with some Nvidia drivers, and also struggles through a number of installation issues with Steam.

"After the game was finished, Nvidia released a new set of drivers which we were unable to test before release. Unfortunately this has caused some incompatibilities with the game. We recommend that you roll back to the previous drivers until this is resolved," advised the publisher.

Then steam is crap.

I LOL at the people who claim Steam is DRM.

As you can buy DoWII install the game install the codes etc and then return the game to the store get your cash back.

And you get all the updates etc as if you paid for it, lol.

I dont know of any store that will take back a PC game after you use its cdkey. good luck with that.

Games are like music cd's. Once you open it, you own it.

What the hell are you talking about?
What does buying the game at the store and then returning it have to do with STEAM?

Qfragger5551d ago

I installed the game on day one and haven't had any issues. The game is outstanding and i'm running it on a laptop with 8800gts.

To zag, where do you go to get cash back on a pc game?

Is Sega blaming steam for Total War's sketchy launch? Maybe they should have allowed Pre-Loading then, most big releases get pre-loading for a reason...I guess Sega thought they knew what they where doing.
They didn't. The excuse they gave for not allowing it was pathetic. Sega said their wouldn't be pre-loading because Empire total war had a staggered release (3rd-4th), I call BS on that.

EMpires is awesome and steam is garbage. They made a big mistake intigrating it with steam.

cpuchess5551d ago

I don't agree Steam is garbage. I do think you should be able to buy it and install it without Steam.

Steam is one of the best things to happen to PC gaming in a long time.
I hardly ever buy a game if it isn't on STEAM.
