GameSpy writes: "If you're looking for a top-notch shooting experience, Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard is not for you.
It's a third-person cover-based shooter with exaggerated and somewhat clumsy gunplay mechanics. You can easily pick off enemies from long range with pistols and submachine guns, as accuracy isn't an issue. Don't ever bother with anything but a headshot, except for the occasional time you want to shoot an enemy in the butt".
Can you judge a video game by its bad, sometimes bonkers box art? More often than not.
The Phalanx cover I do remember well, to be fair it did show a star ship on the cover too.
The worst box art in recent memory was the Doom 2016 one. That cover was depressingly generic.
We groan at the cheese. Also, The Master of Disguise.
One of our newest writers Ewan takes a look at the gaming past and with that we present to you, Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard – Forgotten But Not Gone!
I HAVE to get this when the shops open later this morning. From the text in the review (not the score) this sounds like a game for me, that sort of game full of humour that doesn't come around very often, like the games by Planet Moon last gen. Well, I'm decided, I'm getting Eat Lead.
ALSO; OMG, the Wolfenstien 3D scenery in the embedded video in the review is so damn accurate. This'll be a totally surreal game. I'm going to love it.
