Riddick PS3 demo "coming soon," says Atari

VG247: If you're a PS3 owner wanting to get your hands on the Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena demo that went up on Live this morning, best not to hold your breath: Atari just said it's "coming soon" in a press release.

Just because Killzone 2 is out doesn't mean every other game is junk. If you miss out in playing the demo/game, its your loss. My guess is that your jealous the demo is out on XBL before PSN. LOL, right on the money. As if we haven't had enough Killzone 2 articles and reviews. We don't need to continue to hype or talk about Killzone 2 in every article. The game speaks for itself and I bet a majority of n4g users own it.

People need to get excited for this game. It was awesome on the Xbox and it plays even better (in my opinion) on hi-def consoles.

Anyone know if the 360 or PS3 version is the lead platform? Hopefully both are equally polished; will have to try out both.

I am pretty hyped about this game. I won't even care if they don't come out with a demo for the ps3 cause it's on my must buy list. I mean it's 2 games in one! I read somewhere that both games would equal about 20 hours! Good value. Also Killzone 2 and MLB the show 09 will keep me busy until riddick drops in April!

The demo is pretty hot but short. It would suck for you to miss out on this experience just because of the hype for kz2. The visuals are much better than I imagined so you might want to check it out if you have a 360 lol.

Not so, KZ2 isn't the end-all of FPS games. Riddick happens to be a single player game with approximately 12 hour gameplay, plus they are including the first Riddick game which is around the same amount of gameplay so you get about 18 hours of play. I liked the first Riddick because the graphics were really good on Xbox and there were some stealth elements and puzzle solving. You don't get that in KZ2

Second the Riddick game is not really a fps. It has a few FPS elements, but it's mainly a stealth h2h combat game. It looks really good, and I like Starbreeze so I'm looking forward to playing this demo today. It seems like more of a rental though because Starbreeze has never done a proper online game. It always seems like a last thought add on to spur sales.

Graphics yes, but don't tell me a straight forward FPS is better than games like Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Gears 2, etc. There are more to games than just graphics and as far as gameplay KZ2 is great but it's not better than every 360 exclusive.

KZ2 gets the graphics crown but let's not get stupid with better than every exclusive crap.

As far as online goes there's six classes each with their own perks that drastically change the way you play depending on, which one you choose. You're even allowed to switch classes online everytime you respawn. Not to mention the objectives are always changing in Warzone, and maps are extremely varied. There's a lot of depth to the multiplayer. As for the single player it never got as tedious as the games you mentioned.

Sucks for me, I'm not too interested in Killzone 2 (fortunately I have SFIV) but still, I'd definitely like to try this- loved it last gen. Doesnt seem to make sense why its available first on Live :/

but after pitch black, it feels like the movies and games have tried to commercialize him. It's almost as bad as if the IP of Vadar.. heck Hannibal Lector was taken over by Disney. I just hope this game unleashes the true awesomeness of Riddick the way Wolverene will be in a few short months.

Judging by the above comments, Sony fanboys are jealous. They start talking about Killzone 2 for no reason whatsoever. I shouldn't say no reason...They need to validate their purchase. Why don't we talk about Riddick? The game is awesome and PS3 and Xbox 360 fans should be excited. The game play is still fresh and the graphics are great. Everyone should try the game out before they write it off. The original campaign was 8-10 hours and the new campaign should add an additional number of hours. Multiplayer anyone? This game is going to be great, and its coming out in April! Next sleeper hit I'm interested in is the Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf.
