Simon_Brezhnev5535d ago

yeah i just downloaded it from europe store i kinda like it its fluid but i do wonder if it has online multiplayer it would be pretty stupid if its not since u can only get it by downloading it

techie5535d ago

How are the graphics? Good for download?

vicheous5535d ago

There is no online multiplayer! Only splitscreen coop!
The gfx are okay....

techie5535d ago

Yeah read that in this story, graphics looked pretty good in the trailer. Can't believe the movie has an average of 37/100 on metacritic.

Baba19065535d ago

rotten tomatos the movie has an avarage of 76% or something. thats pretty good. so i would make my own opinion of it.

legendkilla5535d ago (Edited 5535d ago )

wow thats all it got from metacritic a 37? ouch i will still watch it once it comes out .

Edit- oh its climbed up to 44 / 100 now http://www.metacritic.com/f...

techie5535d ago

I guess all the worst reviews went up at once. Lets hope it gets better! David Hayter wrote the script!

Simon_Brezhnev5535d ago

yeah the graphics ok i think they use the unreal engine but i would had bought it if they did online co-op

YonasJonas5535d ago (Edited 5535d ago )

haha (!) RT is THE place to go for movie meta scores. I certainly wouldn't go to meta critic for movie scores. Anyhow it's got a 68% on RT, which is fresh, but not all that great.

I didn't like Zack's 300, but I certainly consider him a competent director it's just the source material was obviously not movie material. Alan Moore's, "Watchmen" would translate better on film imo. Also you have to take into consideration this movie had so much to live up to. Watchmen is considered the greatest graphic novel of all time even ahead of Sandman. Critics are going to be even more critical because of this. Either way I'm excited to see the film day one, and make up my own mind. Looks great from the previews I've seen.

Gonna have to give the demo a try and see what its like. I'm okay about the idea of the Watchmen movie, but not sure if I like the idea of a game, based on a movie, based on a graphic novel.

I'd like a game based on the graphic novel, where you play as rorschach and have to find clues and evidence and stuff, something real dark and moody and wickedly awesome!

Played the demo. Its not bad, I like the narrative structure to it. But just yr basic beat em up game.

All Star Heroes: Top 10 DC Comics Video Games

Warner Brother's DC Entertainment has been known for putting out (mostly) consistent content for years, and that includes forays into video games. Given that DC focuses a lot more on their solo characters, particularly Batman, Superman and Green Lantern, than Marvel does, its no wonder that DC has had an easier time adapting their IP's to other trans-media proprieties. While Marvel's team movie effort The Avengers has proven wildly successful, DC's Dark Knight trilogy, recent Man of Steel film and the entire animated universe helmed by DC animation veteran Bruce Timm has defined an era of superhero cartoons and direct-to-dvd animated features.

Man, DC Comics hasn't had great luck with games, has it? They had to resort to a few pretty average games to fill out the list.

Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons did little work on Watchmen: The End Is Nigh, but was paid “a lot”

Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons revealed that he was paid a hefty sum to be a consultant on the critically-panned Watchmen: The End Is Nigh game even though he wasn’t heavily involved. Gibbons also says the game is not canon, and because of that, he was actually fine with liking and disliking parts of the game.

Lost Potential: Watchmen

"A brawler? Are you serious? As a game developer you look at the Watchmen movie / graphic novel and think “Hmmm that would totally go good with a fighting game, but since Dr. Manhattan would own everybody lets make it a brawler with Rorschach and Nite Owl!” Screw you Deadline Games!" - FirstDropShow

Well, *as* a brawler, it was decent. And had better graphics than most downloadable games. And don't forget, most games take longer to make than most movies, so movie games are always rushed.

That said... yeah, it wasn't worthy of the source material.
