Blizzard continues to patch a decade old game while other companies let their brand new games die without a single patch. thats friggin awesome

Nerf the boss in the second chapter of Single Player. He pisses me off!

Duriel is easy. Just stack a crapload of pots and use your follower as bait.

Try fighting him in Hell Mode. Oblivion Knights are the one to watch out for in Act 4.

Captain Tuttle5538d ago

Yeah, I suck. I've beaten him in the past but I'm really stuck on my latest playthrough. I guess I have to just keep levelling.

I still play Diablo II, and the gameplay hasn't aged one bit.

marichuu5539d ago

Wow... this was... unexpected.
Kudos to Blizzard.

i suppose a graphical update is out of the question :(

would be nice though but i wouldnt want to be slowing down the work on SC2 or DIII

i only got this game after reading about DIII and gota admit, its pretty addictive and the gameplay is second to non in the genre. I guess it wouldn't be a Blizzard game if it wasnt lol

i havent played online yet since i hear players can go round killing whoever they want :S (can anyone shed some light on this?)

I don't know if that many people play Diablo II online, but it was really fun - most of the balance in the game (especially in the higher difficulties) was geared towards playing as a party. If there are still people playing it's awesome.

Players CANNOT just go around killing whoever they want. You need to be at least level 9 (I think) to engage in PvP combat, but then after that they can go hostile on you. If you escape to town then they can't attack you. Most times I played people usually fought with me and didn't turn against me - playing with friends is also awesome.

So past level 9 you need to be on your toes in case people go hostile, but most people are nice and don't do that kind of thing (at least when I played).

lol cool good to know.

there probably are some people around who still play online just as with starcraft.

i might give it a go sometime :)

Santyx5539d ago

ive never been killed by another player unless being asked to duel, trust me its 10000000x better online.

Kugar775539d ago

i play diablo 2 all the time to this day. the player killers really arent that big of a deal, honestly i dont encounter them that often. once they go hostile, they cant see where you are so they would have to be pretty lucky to find you

Altered_Soul5539d ago

Two players have to be hostile to one another in order to commit PvP murder.

pacowles5539d ago

On the off chance you end up near someone hostile to you and get PK'd, you really don't loose anything anyways, so I wouldn't sweat it. Unless you're worried about someone gloating about having your ear in their possession...

Voiceofreason5538d ago

It was really bad once. I remember trying to play online and people would enter every few minutes that were 30-40 levels higher and they'd go hostile. Either die or wait in town til they get bored and continue playing. Works great though if you know enough people to make a group and can close to room off from the random a$$holes that come along. Of course that was back at its peak probably shouldnt be that big of an issue any more

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein92d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.
