IGN: Matt Hazard Blog: Marketing a Videogame Legend

IGN writes: "I love video games. I love playing them. I love buying them. I love hearing about them, ever since I was 8 years old. And not just that, I love game commercials. When I was in elementary school I would get so stoked after seeing an ad for a game I didn't have or hadn't heard of yet. With the Eat Lead campaign I couldn't help but want to tap into what it felt like to watch those commercials and all the questions that ran through my mind as an impressionable youth. Who were those 20-something actors pretending to be junior high kids using that Power Glove? Were they actually playing? Were the 8 bit graphics really as vibrant and advanced as it looked in that extremely short 2-second gameplay clip? Why were there so many cars and explosions literally jumping out of the television screen and into their basement? That usually doesn't happen when I play. But will it, if I get this game? Will I need the spacesuit the kid is wearing to play the game? Does it come inside the box?"
