hmm my roomate was playing this a few hrs yesterday , from what I saw it's not really much of a change from GTA4 , gameplay wise.....but I might eventually play it....just to see how those Biker Gang missions are...and the Intro was pretty cool still..

but for those who loved GTA4...buy it...everyone else...ignore....it's still the same boring GTA4 formula

Meh you bots just don't get it. This DLC is not a full game and besides GTA4 was so bad that i had to trade it in. You really don't get it do you?

Imagine if GTA4 had taken advantage of the ps3 and Rockstar built a new engine specifically based around the ps3's architecture, the game would have been massive with the help of blue ray, the cell and the powerful processing capabilities of the ps3.

This is the reason why i dislike multiplats in the first place with the exception of fifa and street fighter 4

Killzone2 : deserve atleast 9.5 (epic single player, and addictive multi(beta) .. its 80$ in IRAN right now, you must wait :P )
SFIV : 9.2 is fair.. may be 9
GTAIV DLC : deserve atleast 9.5 as a DLC .. because for 20$ they gave you more..

The problem Cartesian is what do you judge your reviewing system by? A 7/10 from Edge can easily translate into a 9/10 from any other site. Without context to justify what you consider is "point-worthy" -I have no idea how you even came up with those number. For one thing, I feel that KZ2 doesn't deserve a 9 just because of the lack of features and short-campaign alone, and that's barely touching MP. But you might disagree because you feel that MP will justify the package alone and the Campaign is already well-done.

You understand me? Numbers are meaningless without a standard to go by. Ranking games by number alone without a standard is only asking for trouble and pointless arguing.

I could never review all of those games. I lack the qualifications. :( -I would prefer a fighting-enthusiast gamer review games like SFIV, and let FPS-enthusiast gamers review KZ2. I would prefer that both a Casual gamer, a GTA veteran, and a mainstream gamer review the GTAIV DLC so I can get multiple outlooks.

It's shameful when reviewers can't professionally rate their games because they fear the public backlash and publisher pressure.

This my friend will start a new standard for future DLCs. Developers can create new games within a game. The Assets, music, engine is there already so create new stories with new characters, weapons, vehicles is the way to go of the future. I am so glad The Lost and the Damned is so worth the wait.

This game along with KZ2 and SF4 wil keep me busy this month.

because it wont start any new STANDARD and thats why :

1- nobody (with healthy brain) will make sth like this DLC without 50million dollar (25million for each) .. you mean there will be a dev that make a 12 hour story without any outsider HELP ? its impossible .. and all devs know that with 25 Million you can make a 60$ AAA title game .. not just a 20$ DLC

2-GTA IV sold around 9 or 10 million.. so making DLC with this amount of content and 20$ price tag is right, because it will sell enough to return the investment (Money and time )

You my friend are so lost and damned. Where did you come up with these insane dollar figures. Yes Microsoft paid for these 2 GTA4 DLCs but you are acting like every DLC will be 25 million. You know the asset and game engine is already there. Developers just need to add new characters, story, weapons and etc..it will probably cost a few millions at the most.

When developers see how well the GTA4 DLCs sell, they will jump in line to make more DLC at a fraction of the cost of shipping to retailers, get more profit per unit sold and etc.. It is common sense dude.

and I said 12 hour story , it means Voice acting,motion capture for story,art design,level design,scenario..etc cost money ..

about burnout : you dont need STORY , so it cost less money ..
in gears of war with completed engine : you just need 10million to make an AAA title because you havent ANY STORY ..

Personally, I really loved GTA4 and hope to eventually purchase the dlc. Right now, though, someone is borrowing the game from me and I have other games on my mind. One day I will restart the GTA4 campaign and purchase this.

MS gave RS a 50 million advance on the game. if it doesn't meet expectations RS will have to pay a part of that back! Also it didn't cost 50 million to make. It was more of a block to ps3 price more than anything.

all they need to sell is 2.5 million to make the full 50 million back. And no one knows the full extent of the deal. they could have payed for something towards gta5 50 million is more than the cost of most AAA games l'm sure MS has more instore

I know it didnt cost 25 million for DLC.. I meant when someone gave you 25 million then you will put 5 million(for example) to make another 12 hour story ... but without that 25M$ you wont risk your effort just to put DLC on ONE console or even making 12 hour story.. you can just make 2 hour story and make a MP mode and some vehicle and new characters and put a 20$ price tag on it..

my point is GTAVI DLC is the most amazing DLC ever created for a game, but it was just because of MS money and their pressure on Rockstar to make a decent GAME not just a DLC so other devs dont see this as an example of usual DLC, and my OTHER point is you can make a better FULL game with that amount of money.

Microsoft did not pay $50 million for DLC. They LENT Rockstar $50 million for the development on GTA IV AND DLC. They've most likely made more than that back from GTA IV alone. And Rockstar actually payed them back. So they really didn't lose any sort of money.

I think GTAIV just suffered from the insane amount of hype. So people who were expecting a blow job and cum 30 times, only got a hand job and came once.

I've been playing GTAIV again lately, and it's actually much "funner" than the first time I played it. Haven't touched it in like 6 months, so all the hype is already settled and now I have a fresher opinion on the game.

And it's actually a "GOOD" game, just not "GREAT"

ANYWAY, this is a great GAME...Not just an expansion. They put A LOT of effort into this and it shows. This is what PAID DLC should be from now on.

As a fan of hardcore music for the past 21 years having LCHC be the Lost's defacto station (it's on constantly in the Clubhouse and on every Lost biker's radio) makes me ecstatic. I love every single HC band on there...Leeway, Maximum Penalty, Sick of it All, Killing Time, Murphy's Law, and the mighty Sheer Terror (listen to Paul Bearer's speech about "squater's rights")...Good stuff...The only negative is that I can't stand Death Metal and they added a bunch of those tracks to the LCHC station which makes ZERO sense considering that not one is even remotely a hardcore band. Oh well...

If you're a fan of GTA IV, and rightfully so, DL this immediately...It's that good.

we also have custom soundtracks on everygame. more people playing with mics and we get demos far more often. and a lot of places have been selling live for $30 now. amazon stays at 39

You really don't understand HOW these online services such as LIVE have so many features, do you?

1. Microsoft has to constantly pay for the features to keep them running. They're not cheap!

2. Paying for an online service is another reason why SONY is desperately trying to make some sort of income on theirs (i.e. HOME, ads, etc.) So they can get some ghetto form of one of the features like on LIVE.

3. LIVE is a very expensive service for Microsoft, and there's a bunch of reasons why. For starters, Microsoft has their own servers for all of their games. They're not run independently by the developers. This gives people a greater chance to play online, because the developers don't have to constantly update their servers. The features such as 8-person party chat cost a lot because of how much bandwidth is being used on Microsoft's servers and whatnot.

At least, this is what I have been told.

Games on LIVE are not hosted on MS servers, they are peer to peer based like a lot of games on the PSN are however some are hosted and maintained by developers on dedicated servers and are not P2P, Resistence 2 being an example of that...60 player MP which is lag free due to such a feature.

LIVE does not have this, it is all peer to peer so you're giving them $50 per year to connect to another person, not to a dedicated server. This is why after my free month of LIVE ends (I bought a 360 little under a month ago) I will not be paying for a gold subscription unless a game comes along that is exclusive to the 360 that I absolutely MUST play online.

However things like party chat are probably hosted on MS owned servers which of course have overheads, however with the amount of gold subscribers they have, $50 per account per year will more than cover their overheads I'm sure.

Sony has 32 vs 32? Is that supposed to impress me? There is more to LIVE and PSN and online gaming in general than how many players can be in a room...I'm there for ALL the features and the fact is $50 a year which equals $3.84 a month is an incredibly SMALL price to pay for the features that LIVE has. MS charges for LIVE so they can maintain those features and add new ones. It's actually pretty amazing for very little cost.

Like Jet said, there are games that support that much on LIVE. And my "number one game" isn't my number one game. So trying to make a dig at live for a game like Gears of War is pretty dumb.

And if you think MAG is going to be able to pull off that size of a room without lag, game drops and such, you're delusional.

Sorry you didn't like GTA IV...I did, a lot. And I'm enjoying the hell out of Lost and Damned on my 360. Should tide me over until next week when I get Killzone 2.

Me might not have dedicated servers for all games, but there's a lot and this feature blows any bell or whistle xbl has to offer.

I don't know about ya'll, but I'm loving the DLC (considering I still love playing the original GTA IV)

Riding in unison with your brothers is nice (and keeping in line to regain health is a cool touch), and so are the new action cams that are available when you hold down B.

The dialogue pre and during missions are TOP NOTCH still and the new mini games are icing on the cake.

I'm fully enjoying this and can't wait for the next one

I'd imagine if you enjoyed GTA4 there's no question you'd enjoy the DLC and get a lot out of it. Unfortunately GTA4 didn't do it for me like the previous games, I quit playing it after not too long in.

I own a 360 now (I didn't when the game was released) and believe me had I enjoyed GTA4 I'd have had no problem trading it in for the 360 version so I could get the DLC.

ps3 will get dlc also just a different story. just wondering with the dlc how do the bikes handle? personally i didnt really care for the bikes other then helicopter to the tallest building and sanchez off of it was pretty fun but like using a bike for missions how does it work
