Jolt.co.uk Interview: Yuji Naka

Jolt.co.uk writes: "Having recently returned to Sega after leaving Sonic Team to form Prope (his own independent game studio) in 2006, Yuji Naka announced his first game at TGS last year, launching exclusively on the Wii. Let's Tap is ostensibly the world's first controller-free game, boasting the innovative new control method of tapping on a box while the Wii remote reads the vibrations. Having already won the TGS 2008 'Future Award' for Let's Tap, we caught up with Naka-san, who was dressed in a rather fetching orange tie, handkerchief and socks ensemble, chatted to us about his exciting new party game."

I agree. Those two games were ZzZzZzZzZzZzZz.

La Noire was just a big tech demo for their new facial animations.

L.A Noire was a big disappointment to me. Quite repetitive, boasted one hell of a huuge nicely rendered map that was practically full of nothing to do.

Restrictive gameplay scenarios in how you approach / solve cases. The facial animations is what was amazing, but the rest was a letdown especially with the amount of little things you can do in the game.

Depends on personal preference/choice. I loved Heavy Rain. It was something new and fresh, and I'm glad I played it.

The Wiire: Let's Tap Review

The Wiire writes: "Could A Wii game that you play without touching the Wiimote possibly be fun?

Nintendo claims they are "innovators." With the Wii, the DS and the Dsi, many believe that Nintendo has lived up to their claims. Even with these innovations on the hardware side, there is little argument that there is a lack of innovation in third-party developed software. With a few exceptions in games like Boom Blox, not many games find interesting mechanics besides the basic waggle."
