Reviewers! Stop Lying and Play The Game, F.E.A.R. 2 Still Has Slide-Kicking! - F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Review - Poland.US

While FEAR 2 isn't the be-all, end-all of either horror games or first person shooters, it successfully builds on the strengths and eliminates most of the issues found in the previous games. The game might be easier than expected and it probably won't leave you terrified of playing it at night, but it successfully creates a sense of atmosphere, mixed with some really intense combat. FEAR 2 might not be a revolutionary title, but its a damn fun game.

slide kicking....whoop de doo. -_-

I have played it and would definitely consider an 8.5 a good score for it. Anything above that is good but a bit more giving. 8.8 is not too over the top and seems like they are tracking around the same score I would give it. The game is just fun.

yup, i've played it and agree with 8.5. i thought it turned out well. my main negative was the way the player moves. at times i felt like a drunk grunt haha.

but i see myself only playing two games this spring

SF4 and KILLZONE2 over and over again

I'm playing right now and have to agreed this game is damn good, the atmosphere it projects is genuine to the original F.E.A.R and the combat system is one of the best of any fps, everyone should give it a go and not just judge it by the demo as the full game is completely different and the story is worth it for any F.E.A.R fan.

It's extremely well crafted. The controls(judging from the 360 version) are some of the tightest I've experienced in any console FPS and the enemy AI is also outstanding. One other thing I love is that the story blends in with the gameplay perfectly. You never get the "run-n-gun" feeling cause there's always something story related going on around you. Very atmospheric graphics too. From what I've played it's a solid 9/10.

I bought this game from game stop its absolutely horrid. Its going back to game stop tomorrow because my investment will be in killzone 2.

I was a fear fan but this game lacks some serious depth and does not feel modern at all. Hasta la vista baby

[Retrospective] For Better And For Worse: ‘F.E.A.R. 2’ Turns 10

Inspired by the J-Horror craze going on at the time, Monolith’s F.E.A.R. was a solid action fest of a shooter that entertained as much as it terrified. Bloody Disgusting goes back to see Alma ten years on from the launch of the sequel.

Great franchise, needs a port to consoles.

I liked the first FEAR better. 2 was ok.

This game honestly killed all my interest in the franchise, I loved 1 and its expansions (even though they're technically non-canon now) but the sequel was such a let down.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Review

Following on the coattails of the highly successful First Encounter Assault Recon, or F.E.A.R., Monolith Soft and publisher Warner Brothers released the highly anticipated F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.

Set immediately prior to the finale of Point Man’s adventure in F.E.A.R., Project Origin tasks the player, one Sergeant Becket, and his squad with the retrieval and protection of Armacham’s Genevieve Aristide. Shortly after you battle your way through her apartment complex, a mushroom cloud explosion blasts through the city, successfully incapacitating Becket. While passing in and out of consciousness, Becket sees his journey from Aristide’s apartment to a hospital bed where he hallucinates being torn asunder by demons. Upon awakening, Becket finds himself pitted against a team of special ops soldiers cleaning up Armacham’s involvement from the original F.E.A.R.
