Quantum Theory is drawing glances for all the right reasons. Despite being the first shooter ever crafted by the veteran developer Tecmo, the game features some stunning graphics and an interesting new take on the rapidly tiring Gears of War-style cover system. Of course, being a PS3 exclusive also has some play in this as well. But it wasn't always slated as so.
Many developers try to copy great games and they often fail miserably. These are some video game rip-offs that are hilariously bad.
Every battle royale and soulslike. Every cartoony live service game with dancing
Many of the AAA out on the market today have garnered themselves millions of loyal fans and millions of dollars in revenue. But what if you can’t afford these $60 beauties, or perhaps are looking for something…different? These five video games are the generic store brands of the video game world. Just be warned — your mileage may vary.
The author intentionally plays bad video games for your twisted amusement. Tonight's Episode: Quantum Theory.
with Quantum Theory, I played the demo and was not impressed. I felt like they were trying to mix Gear of War with Lost Planet, and didn't do either very well. May be someone who never played either would have a blast with it though.
I followed this game forever until I finally came out. I got it and loved every bit of it. Originally supposed to be a PS3 exclusive. It got horrible reviews and I didn't understand any of them. They must've been playing a different game then me!
Sucks for PC owners! Though if it looks this good on PS3, imagine on PC? ::drool::
I enjoyed the TGS trailer last year. I'm keeping an eye on this one.
Me Too
It's probably still being developed on the PC, as well. From what I gather, they decided to do it on PS3 because the PS3 would be fast enough to do their game justice, but the number of PCs out there that would also be just wasn't enough (I assume it has pretty high requirements). However, they'll likely still develop it on the PC as it's a lot cheaper to buy even a top-end PC system than it is to buy a PS3 dev kit (They're like $10,000 or something, a top end PC could be got for like $2,000, probably less). This is quite common these days.
Still wouldn't expect a PC release any time soon, if at all, though.
What really interests me is that they're making shooter and targeting a Japanese audience. I hope it succeeds.
That and the fact that Temco would do a PS3 exclusive (because they want to, not because they are being bribed to do it) after getting rid of the date rapist is pretty funny.
Now some Boxhead tell me why its not.
