Quick Jump Network managed to score an interview with The Game Factory, the team behind Legend of the Dragon, the upcoming fighting game for the Sony PSP and Nintendo Wii.
As the year winds down to a close, Gamezone is left thinking about all of the great games that came their way. This year was particularly impressive, considering the sheer amount of high-profile titles that came out in 2007. Unfortunately, they can't all be winners, hence this worst of 2007 list. You'll find games that had some degree of promise, but ultimately failed to deliver on it. Here are the editor's choices for worst stinkers of 2007:
10. Godzilla: Unleashed
9. Legend of the Dragon
8. Madden NFL 08 (PS3)
7. Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
6. Tenchu Z
5. Bullet Witch
4. Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
3. Vampire Rain
2. Hour of Victory
1. Lair
Halo 3 is the only choice biggest stinker of 2007 for anyone but foaming at the mouth Xbox fans:
* Sub HD graphics - can only run at 640p and not 720p like real next gen games
* Crappy last gen looking graphics - oh look! Gaudy shiny coloured metal!
* Jaggies all over the place
* Huge framerate problems
* No dedicated servers
* Laggy P2P networking
* Can only manage 16 players per online game
* Only 6-7 hour single player
Remember when Halo 3 was supposed to be 1080p, have dedicated servers, large player counts, amazing next gen graphics...LOL!
As I said before... Lair is actually a very very good game... could have made the top ten games of the year... if you were allowed to actually play the game... In the end you were moved around, had the dev / director on your shoulder changing strategy every two minutes - and not allowing you to actually enjoy the game. The gameplay is excellent, the controls is good, the environments is awesome... too bad every two minutes the pop in interfere-as-you-go cut scene and take you out of the game... Pity... this game could have been great if you were just allowed to play the game yourself. Disappointment of the year as a PS3 owner for me.
Luckily we had Warhawk, Uncharted, R&C, EoJ, Singstar, HS, COD4 amongst other great titles to get over the disappointment.
and they just put all of sony's games on that list....or are they being generous... lol sony fanboys always have 2009 to look forward to.... since nintendo have too many good games coming out next year.
Seems like a somewhat non-objective list, seeing there are no Wii games on the list and almost no X360 games. Hour of Victory saves things, though.
its so funny how stupid dream intruder is. on one story i said i didnt like how wii does simple games like madden and he says "well then i guess you dont enjoy gaming". good one? and also all he does is bash sony's future, when in 08 ps3 has gta4, gt5, burnout, killzone, mgs4, lbp, eight days, infamous, haze, final fantasy (maybe), resistance 2. i;m not trying to look smart by posting games, i am actually excited for all those games, and if he isnt, i think he would be the one who doesnt enjoy gaming.
In its first year, the Wii has changed the video game landscape. It's brought people in who never thought they would care about video games. New methods of interacting with onscreen events have been invented. The image of the video game has started swinging away from the nerd-basement stereotype and toward a more family-friendly, even trendy experience.
But the Wii is still a game console, and it can't be completely different from every other console. It's a universal rule that all video game systems must be populated by a bunch of really terrible games, and the Wii has certainly done an admirable job of attracting cheaply-made, ill-conceived, untested, embarrassing garbage. It's really a mark of a system's popularity that so many publishers have come running with their shovels. It's a mark of the Wii's strength as a platform, as well, that it has managed to survive despite the existence of some of these games.
There only 4 Wii games that I want, all of the other games are REALLY weak.
Most of the Wii's first year was full of horrible games. There have been some standouts, though. I'm a big fan of Wii Sports, Trauma Center, Metroid Prime and Super Mario Galaxy.
