This article makes me want to try the Tenchu Series.

Tenchu was a good series. It if you are going to try the original, hasn't aged well. I imported the JP version and still have it with the Ninja Scroll it came packed with :) I'm surprised we haven't seen a next gen version yet and maybe we never will.

It was an awesome game where you could go through the entire levels only killing the bosses. I remember the first time I used the grappling hook to escape to the roof tops and thought to myself, this is about to be one hell of an game.

Ayame and Rickimaru were badass ninjas back in the day. I miss them :'(

HarryMasonHerpderp4303d ago

I thought Tenchu 2 was the best, used to spend hours on the level editor and making my friends play my levels with about a 100 hidden traps in them lol.

Same here haha. Tenchu is a freakin classic man.

Kyosuke_Sanada4303d ago (Edited 4303d ago )

What makes me respect Rikimaru is that even though he wasn't blessed withe the talent as Ayame and Tatsumaru is was his hard work that still made him rise to their level in skill and in some instances surpass it.

Rikimaru is as traditional as a classic shinobi can get.....

3 Games That Make You Feel Like A Total Badass

Impotence. No one wants to feel weak. It's true in life and in video games. You might start off as the under-dog, but that can't last for the entire game. You want to start conquering something, anything. And when you do, it feels oh so good.

Here's a short list of the games that make you feel powerful, invincible; they make you feel . . .

Badass.

Thanks for bringing the caps to my attention, guys. Not sure what happened when I submitted it.

Terrible article.

God of War 3
Prototype
inFamous 2
Just Cause 2

Crackdown is the ONLY one on that list that made me feel even kind of cool. Even then, there is no story to motivate you to be cool.

I know Just Cause 2 had a bad story too, but blowing up entire towns and flying a commercial plane into the side of a military base...is pretty fun!

God of War? Kratos? lol, being Bad Ass insinuates being liked by people who think you ARE Bad Ass, otherwise you just come off as an arragont douchebag.

Are Firefighters and Soldiers badass? Yes. Are serial killers and convicts? no.

rdgneoz34596d ago

You don't have to be liked by others to be a badass. Also, with your line of reasoning, he (newn4gguy) likes Kratos enough to mention him, so he thinks he's a bad ass.

If someone thinks someone's a bad ass, are they not because you think they aren't? Or if you think they're a bad ass, are they not because someone else thinks they aren't?

As for serial killers and convicts not being bad asses? Ever watch mafia movies or "The Professional"? As for soldiers, it depends on where you live and who you're at war / fighting. Would you think the soldiers of your enemy are bad asses?

lol you have to be likeable to be a badass? Think about it dude

oneneo4596d ago

Great choices, newn4gguy. I especially agree with inFamous 2 and Prototype as making you feel like a badass.

I'm surprised that Crysis 2 didn't make you feel like a total badass while playing. I felt like an unstoppable killing machine in that game.

I see that story is a part of what makes you feel cool in a game, and I can completely understand that. However, at least for me, even with the lack of a good story, the gameplay itself makes me feel like a badass.
