THQ confirms Conan for Xbox 360 and PS3

News of the game surfaced recently, suggesting the game would follow a similar style to Sony's God of War franchise, and today THQ has official confirmed that the game will debut early in 2008 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

The game is based on the Conan character brought to life by in Robert E. Howard's original stories.

the developers say the fighting system will play more like Ninja Gaiden than GoW.

I'm not sure how to take this. I loved Ninja Gaiden - even beat it(only on Normal - I'm not some kind of gaming stud!, but this type of game is not exactly accessible to the masses. Many people got stuck on the second boss in NG.

Its just an interesting direction given the source material. I would think people would expect more of a button mashing fest accessible to noobs with some room for the more skilled gamer to show off his stuff.

A good example of this is the direction of Too Human. In an interview, the developers said that you could button mash and make progress taking out one enemy at a time, but the skilled player could clear out a room with one long combo.

And Conan and Ryu seem to be the polar opposites of each other as far as...everything...save they both use a sword. It'll be interesting to see how this one turns out.

how long did it take you to beat it? Took me 40 hours the first time, 12 hours the second.
