Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
Valve has finally introduced the much-needed 64-bit support in an unexpected Team Fortress 2 update after 17 years since its release.
64 bit support is not the same as a next gen upgrade. 64 bit has been used for like 12-15 years now?
MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.
MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.
That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.
I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
I'm slightly surprised to see ''Quake Wars'' but it was an alright game.
L4D and COD4 are amazing games.
Counter Strike Source FTW. Still in my opinion the most competitive FPS shooter and requires great skill.
Also this is a list for PC only, not the consoles, hence no console FPS games (contributor?).
How do games like battlefield 2142 and Quake Wars get on the list of most popular multiplayer PC FPS? The amount of people still playing both those games is so small in comparison to the other games on the list.
cod4 is the best one out of the series, resistance 2 different by numbers alone great fun,cod5 under the map glitches have killed the game period,428 kill streak some guy had lol and he says its genuine, total bullsh*t,this needs patching quickly, anyone seen guys rocket launching themselves on the roof in the hanger mode.that i can live with its watching for bullets through the floor that does your head in.
4/10 of those games are developed by Valve, just goes to show what a great developer they really are.
