Many developers try to copy great games and they often fail miserably. These are some video game rip-offs that are hilariously bad.
Every battle royale and soulslike. Every cartoony live service game with dancing
Many of the AAA out on the market today have garnered themselves millions of loyal fans and millions of dollars in revenue. But what if you can’t afford these $60 beauties, or perhaps are looking for something…different? These five video games are the generic store brands of the video game world. Just be warned — your mileage may vary.
The author intentionally plays bad video games for your twisted amusement. Tonight's Episode: Quantum Theory.
with Quantum Theory, I played the demo and was not impressed. I felt like they were trying to mix Gear of War with Lost Planet, and didn't do either very well. May be someone who never played either would have a blast with it though.
I followed this game forever until I finally came out. I got it and loved every bit of it. Originally supposed to be a PS3 exclusive. It got horrible reviews and I didn't understand any of them. They must've been playing a different game then me!
Quantum Theory really does seem like a game that would be multi-platform, so I wouldn't be that surprised if Sony was indeed helping out with the publishing.
Sony spoke about this before, that rather than pay developers for exclusives, they were going to take the approach of publishing games to ensure exclusivity and help remove that costs from the developer.
Ah yes I remember that. It was a way to cut the middleman (publisher) and work directly with developers.
In any case I do hope this game turns out well. Gives Sony a Gears esque title. But I wonder if the sort of anime look mite be a hindrance to its sales. Hopefully not.
...and leave the pop 'n' shoot to Kill.Switch
What I would have loved to have seen is Sony having one of their teams working on a TPS using the Killzone engine. And I would have liked them to have started it 2 years ago.
We all think the engine will be used again in Sony games, but theres no reason Killzone has to be out before they get started on it. I wouldn't be surprized if they already have a game in development using the engine.
Or maybe thats why 8 days was postponed to finish the engine and then resume it.
