IGN: Star Ocean: Second Evolution Review

IGN writes: "A few short months ago, Square Enix released a remake of the original Star Ocean in the form of Star Ocean: First Departure. In my review of the game, I mentioned that I had a particular affinity for the game's sequel, Star Ocean: The Second Story. As you already know, Square Enix also had plans to remake Second Story, which is now arriving on Sony's portable under the name Star Ocean: Second Evolution. I was very eager to play through this RPG, considering my fond memories of the original from many years ago. Second Evolution is definitely a superior game to First Departure and -- despite retaining some of its predecessor's flaws -- will entertain RPG enthusiasts hoping to get a taste of a classic fantasy/sci-fi experience."

I mean, they're releasing the first 2 on PSP, not XBLA, and the 3rd is on PS2. There is no reason it won't be coming.

Great score.I'm hoping SO4 lives up to the greatness of SO2

They screwed up the games when it went to full 3D. Then again, the Star Ocean games have always been garbage just like the Final Fantasy series once Square-Enix started making them.

I have the original PS game and it was the game that drew me into the Star Ocean universe. I'll be getting this one and I have it's predecessor, First Departure. Star Ocean is a great series for those that appreciate it, and some hate it. Besides the hate for the series, it's a great one and I can't wait for Second Evolution.

SuperPhillip Central's Favorite VGMs - Happy Rosh Hashanah Edition

Phil writes, "It's the Jewish new year today, and I'm glad I could catch it before the day's end. The Jewish calendar is more than a few thousand years ahead of the standard Roman calendar that we generally use. And it's around more than four thousand digits ahead of SuperPhillip Central's Favorite VGMs VGM volume total.

Regardless, as is customary on Mondays, the Favorite VGMs are here to deliver great video game music to all readers of SuperPhillip Central. This week, the critically mixed Star Fox Zero leads off with its version of Corneria. Then, Mario Kart 7 races onto the scene. Star Ocean: The Second Story is one of my favorite video game soundtracks of all time, so this week I'm showing off a world map theme for the game. Next, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars delivers a titillating tune. Finally, Me & My Katamari busts out a ten minute-long funk-a-licious song.

As always, click on the VGM volume name to reach the YouTube video featuring that song. And if you want to listen to past VGM volumes featured on SuperPhillip Central's Favorite VGMs, look no further than the always-updated VGM Database. Now, let's get on to the music!"

Anyone know if they plan on releasing this for the PS4 in the west? I didn't even know about this until just now, Second Story was always my favorite one in the series.
