Here’s what you need to know about the Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PC release time, including a countdown and gameplay details.
The new milestone by Ghost of Tsushima sets it apart from many other PC ports launched by Sony, showcasing the game's immense success.
It looks like FSR 3.1 implementation is now a reality, allowing for DLSS and FSR 3 frame generation at the same time in Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Tsushima is being negatively reviewed on Steam due to its forced PSN requirements similar to Helldivers 2.
I don't know why sony would want people to sign into their service as if sony ownS the game.
They're review bombing because PSN is required to play multiplayer.
Unlike some sites have claimed, it's not a launcher, it's just an overlay.
It's a bizarre thing to review bomb over since anyone can play it the single player game without it.
It's a single player game. The MP is bonus material.
I know it’s not like every other company requires people to sign into their account. S:
They are doing it because if Xbox creates a PC hybrid console they want a way to prevent them from accessing their games.
Sony own's the IP, Sucker Punch is Sony's first party developer. So yeah, they own the game whether you like it or not.
@inurfoxhole
Ghost of Tsushima released as a single player game. The MP was added later.
MP is available in 73 countries.
MP is not 1/4 of the game. It's closer to 1/50.
Careful! You don't want to take Sony to task in a chat filled with corporate shilling Sony fans... God forbid we call out obvious bull from our favorite plastic box overlord....
@TheEroica, only childish brats whine about such things or the occupy Wallstreet crowd such as yourself, lol. Its always laughable seeing westerners claim to be against "corporations " when the entire population across western civilization is steeped in corporate culture/product use.
I reported it as Old and gave that exact reason because the claims were outdated.
My report was removed.
I don't think I have ever agreed with anything you've said, but on this issue we're on the same page.
Yes just because all other companies require you to log in doesn’t mean PlayStation should be allowed to do the same.
thats a weird thing to say. if all the others require you to do it, why should they not be allowed to?
how about we dont make it a requirement, period?
You keep saying this. But research first maybe. Most company's have wide reach so they are pretty much everywhere, psn has like a 62 country reach, so it's alienate all the other countries that doesn't have psn access...
As far as I understand at the technical level is to have the cross play features active between pure PSN and new Steam users, as the developers explained: "Legends co-op multiplayer mode requiring Windows to access PlayStation Network integrated features". I have purchased played and finished this game and its dlc on Playstation together with each and every exclusive and I can wholeheartly say that this is a fantastic game with amazing esploration, combat story graphics and ALL which includes a fantastic and unique multiplayer mode. Whining back at a company which is actually bringing innovation and a pletora of great games for everybody to enjoy is a bit lame and shows a bit of immaturity in my modest opinion. NOT buying this game because people do not want to sign up for PSN is a great loss in terms of enjoyment and pure discovery of a great game,
Yeah, i don't get either. If the game were to require online to play a single player game then by all means, yes we need to call them out. But a multiplayer requiring a psn connection for online gaming isn't much is it?
I'm asking for those that have a problem with it. Like what exactly is the problem here(i don't game on pc btw)
And aren't we required to sign on psn on ps anyway?
Sony made the mistake of requiring a login for their service like EA, Take2, Microsoft, Rockstar, and more and by being named Sony.
I'd be more supportive of this drive to push back against secondary logins if people were actually criticizing the biggest offenders out there. But this is just controversy for Sony, not for the plethora of other companies.
Why can't you just recognize this as a step forward, why because it's Sony everyone need to prove their loyalty to the cause first before they attack them, Sony always needs to come last for you
Because they immediately stopped at Sony. I wholeheartedly support the movement, but gamers aren't moving forward with it. And that's why I'm rolling my eyes at gamers who think they're fighting the good fight. They're not. Just pounding chests and letting the worse offenders get away.
Were you living under a rock when it was reported that PSN is only available in a limited amount of countries? Compared to the other companies which greatly support more countries.
Because of Sony's requirement, their games like Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima have been delisted in over 170 countries. These restrictions would not have been in place if Sony didn't suddenly mandate those logins.
According to Steam, Sony, and Arrowhead, HD2 and GoT is available in 73 countries.
There are 195 countries on Earth.
Christopher is definitely aware of that situation, he's acting like Will Smith when he slapped Chris Rock right now, performing selective outrage.
That's a stupid reason to be upset about. It doesn't affect you so stop crying. It is sonys decision to handle their games the way they want to. If it's not available in certain countries it's not because they don't want to sell there, it's because there are laws in place that prevent them from currently selling there. That is none of your business and entirely sonys business.
You don't think they want to sell more? They're eventually going to do it so stop your nonsensical crying about stuff that doesnt affect you.
@Magatsuhi
"It doesn't impact you so screw everyone else you may know that it does impact."
Cause nobody has friends or family in other countries. They can't enjoy a game with online coop all because Sony, ineptly with limited network range and poor planning, wants to artificially boost their PSN numbers to impress shareholders.
Those people should have just been born in a different country(/sarc) despite this wasn't a legal problem before rather always a lacking infrastructure on Sony's end that Steam's larger network circumvented.
@Magatsuhi
I'm definitely a Playstation fan, but I'm gonna call you right the fuck out.
"If it's not available in certain countries it's not because they don't want to sell there, it's because there are laws in place that prevent them from currently selling there. That is none of your business and entirely sonys business."
I'm sorry, but I'm gonna need to see receipts on this claim. What laws? I'm not familiar with Japanese law so hey maybe you are correct, but I really feel as if you just made that whole statement up just to....defend a corporation. Please Show me. Because holy shit there is corporate simping but this feels past that more like "yes more daddy yes i'll do ops whenever you want uwu"
***Christopher is definitely aware of that situation, he's acting like Will Smith when he slapped Chris Rock right now, performing selective outrage. ***
The lack of awareness is amazing. I'm the one being performative while I can't get achievements in Mass Effect LE because EA app login requirements break Steam features.
Here, let me rephrase this for people who lack reading comprehension:
"HEY, GAMERS! Can you take this motivation to go after shit login needs and go after EA, Ubisoft, Take2, Rockstar, and more? Can we not just focus on one company that started what others have been doing for years, some for over a decade?
Thanks, me, Christopher"
When you realize that most people's internet anger is governed by what their favorite influencers/YouTubers tell them to be mad about and not by principles, it makes a lot more sense when they don't act with any level of consistency.
It's not just the recent anger at Sony over the PSN requirements, you see this all the time. People who happily play multiplayer-only games will join a dogpile on an upcoming game for lacking a "campaign" if the internet tells them to be mad about that. Similarly, people who are fine with certain games being digital only will swear they'll never buy a different game that is digital only (you saw a lot of this recently with Alan Wake 2).
@Jeece, yep. I hate the outrage culture in gaming. A bunch of phony's grandstanding about issues none of these dopes really care about.
Idk I've been against digital only since it was a thing. Still against it and won't be buying Alan wake 2. I think that particular situation is some of us being legit pissed.
@Christopher
Why do you completely keep ignoring PSN is only available in a more limited amount of places?
Why don't you understand that HD:2 was sold to people then taken away after they paid?
Why don't you understand that you sound ridiculous, and sound like a child...look, look, they are doing it so I can too mentally...you ever heard the saying '2 wrongs don't make a right"? Talk about Sony like you do every other companies, instead you deflect to other companies...the people that are complaining are obviously Sony fans or fans of Sony games, that want to play Sony games on PC, this shit got nothing to do with any other company...they don't like Sony doing it, you know, the company that is a cut above the rest, why can't you see that?
Again, screw MS, Ubisoft, EA or anyone else, Sony fan don't want Sony to do this, people that want to spend money on Sony games, you know the #1 gaming company in the world, they shouldn't stoop to a practice that YOU, yourself said is not good...you should be upset, not pointing at other companies.
Your post are not even saying Sony is fucked up for anything, but saying people should go after other companies...it just comes off as so damn fanboy. It's becoming harder and harder for you to hide bro.
It wasn't taken away, get real. They're just not selling anymore copies in those regions. People who have already bought the game will continue to play it as there is no psn login requirement.
*** Why do you completely keep ignoring PSN is only available in a more limited amount of places? ***
I'm not.
*** Why don't you understand that HD:2 was sold to people then taken away after they paid? ***
I do. And I'm happy they reversed their decision. I also understand that those people who bought it at release were asked to login to their PSN account, but it was disabled until they could fix whatever they needed fixing.
***Why don't you understand that you sound ridiculous, and sound like a child***
Yes. I'm the one who sounds like a child. Considering absolutely nothing you brought up is to do with Ghost of Tsushima. I'm also the one calling other people children rather than having an argument relevant to the comment to which I'm replying.
***Talk about Sony like you do every other companies***
Sony has shit first party support for the last year and no news on what's coming up. Third party support is a crutch that they don't deserve praise for. Sony's decision to focus on GaaS is dumb. Sony shouldn't have layed anyone off since the decisions affecting them were the fault of Jim Ryan and not because they failed to create what they were asked to do.
All things I've said about Sony recently.
***Your post are not even saying Sony is fucked up for anything, but saying people should go after other companies.***
You need to read more of my posts. You have no clue about me other than the posts you choose to reply to.
Idc either way but it is confusing as to why people ain't using the same energy for ea, ubisoft, Ms, etc. Sony certainly should find a way for people everywhere to play. Whatever reason psn isn't available in said countries. The more the merrier
I mean they review bomb all they want it still the #1 selling game at the moment on steam. Its best for Sony to stick it out and let the login normalize it. If those pc user really wanted to play there games like they said they did at one point. They'll comply with the login and stop being a B* about it and stop using the Sony hack 20 years ago as an excuse to not want a psn account. Matterfact just heard the game is already being pirated. This is the reason why there should be something to stop them or make it hard for them.
The review bombing is childish behavior and it’s only serving to undermine the “review” system in the end. If you don’t like something, don’t buy it. It’s okay. You don’t have to go out of your way to sling mud and burn down couches in the street to express your displeasure.
How about this… if I create a product, I am allowed to sell it the way I want to sell it. Sony’s not requiring a login just because they want to be funny or to piss people off. They are establishing an ecosystem and there is rationale, some known and some unknown to us, for why they would want to do it. If a consumer does not agree, they have the option of not buying the product. Seems like a fair situation.
They are allowed to sell it the way they want… We are allowed tk not buy it…
But you know what the consumer is allowed to do in case they didnt like it as well? To make a negative review, and that is a fair situation…
And its not being review bombed anyways, its sitting at very positive.
Sh!t is so dumb, i hope it gets enough noise to backtrack this whole initiative
At least it's only required for the Legends MP, silver lining i guess 🤷♂️ still dumb af tho
I know, just because all other large publishers require a sign in, does not give PlayStation the right to require a sign in also.
I don't get that argument everyone is trying to use, cause i don't like it when literally ANYONE does it as a requirement. It's dumb and annoying, even all the way back to MGS4 making a damn Konami ID to play MGO. Just grinds my gears the shreds. PlayStation is my primary platform, but to me that makes me feel even more obligated to call them out on the same BS i call everyone else out on.
I don’t like it either. But I understand that there are reasons important enough to have to face the “wrath” of weekend warriors for them to be doing it.
The sad thing is that if most people were in Sony’s position to decide and were offered a nice incentive for implementing a login system, they would be their true hypocrite selves and take the bait. Humans are inherently greedy creatures and most only talk a good game until they themselves are in a position to reap benefit. Then it’s every one for themselves.
But even on playstation we're needed to be signed in to play online to play online.
PC is an open platform, undreds of thousands of games work online without needing to make some account on a separate service. It's unnecessary on PC, companies just do it to get access to your data to sell.
What’s the controversy?
No PSN in your country? Refund.
Done.
Don’t like it? Then ask why PSN isn’t available to you, in your country. It might not be Sony’s fault…
On PS you can choose any supported region even if you don't reside in said region as long as you put a real city and zip code. They could have given us the option, but nooooo, no, no, no, they'd rather delist the game entirely and make piracy great again.
Yeah everyone pirated mother 3 and i pirated valkyria chronicles 3 because it didn't come to other regions...was there or are there currently unhinged review bombing of the other released regions versions?
We review bombing japanese games that don't release day one worldwide?
Even if it's Sony's fault who cares? Everyone pleads Nintendo to release Mother 3 in the US but never review bombs the japanese version.
They don't release the games in those regions so they don't get the sales. That's usually the end of it for games that don't come to other regions...but it's Sony now so they want to make it a bigger deal than it is.
The modders came to the rescue and released an unofficial English version of Mother 3. Right now the Metacritic score is high and I believe that anyone who really wanted to play it got a chance to do so.
@Divine.
The modders saved me with a english version of Valkyria Chronicles 3 as well.
You don't need modders to pirate tsushima if you're in one of the affected countries so it's easier to get so there should be no need to hate raid the game.
Lol, those that review bombed it will be eating up the campaign regardless of the mp add on.
Ridiculous controversy for such a non-issue. "Oh no, I've have to sign in to PSN." For shame.
At least i learned something funny from the controversy.
That PSN is only available in 73 countries out of 193...and is still dominating. 😁
People outside of those 73 countries still have PS4s and PS5s. All they have to do is create an account using the address of one of the supported markets.
On Steam, it's a different story. Unless those people use a VPN, they won't even have the option of purchasing the game.
People creating an account from another country are breaking terms of service and only credit cards from the country chosen on the account work that you have to find a workaround...so that's how good playstation is for people to go through all that trouble. 😉
"That PSN is only available in 73 countries out of 193...and is still dominating."
Strange brag when you consider the competition.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
"As of October 2023, the Nintendo eShop is available in 46 markets"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
"The Xbox Network is available in 42 countries"
Really cause I see an 83% positive rating and about 61 thousand people right now, must be on a different planet
Good port though if you guys are wondering. I hope the same mentality goes to ubisoft, EA, etc as well because they're even worse with it. But then again, their games do already get review bombed lol.
I think the best thing Sony could do is come out and say they'll never require ps plus for online play and let psn linking be optional for crossplay and trophies.
ALL REVIEWS: Very Positive (5,036)
User reviews: Very Positive
https://store.steampowered....
I’ve always hated such requirements. Even back in the day when you needed Steam to install and play games on PC.
That being said, I honestly think it’s stupid to reflect this in a review score. It doesn’t make the game worse.
This is getting old. If you can, make a sign in plain and simple. If not then you should be upset. For all the PC players who are just pushing to push back, get over it. Helldivers 2 everyone agreed on because it wasn't required at the start. This is required from the start, if u don't want to make one don't get the game🤯.
If Sony want to keep shooting themselves in the foot with bad PR why make things so complicate and release PC ports in the first place. Is it worth having the negativity with the PS5 doing so well.
Because this new rule only applies to Sony. All large publishers have required and continue to require sign-in for their games. Sony is being held to a different standard.
Im not defending blindly. If what you say is true, my question is, did Sony offer said game in that territory? And did they advertise it with myltiplayer? Because if they didnt they why do these individuals expect to get something for free that the rest of the territories are paying for?
So it is okay that every other publisher requires a account for their games but people get angry because of Sonys account requirement? Some people really just want to cry.
I get that the whole issue is because it’s obvious the PSN sign up can be optional. But so can every other service sign up…they should actually all be optional, but I can see how this may be a case of last straw.
Sony basically made 2 mistakes:
. Not properly communicating that it was momentarily disabled for HD2. By the time they wanted to re-enable it, it was too late & badly conveyed, pissing off (understandably) both informed & misinformed gamers.
. Requiring it for Tsushima MP comes too soon after the HD2 debacle. It’s still fresh in people’s minds.
Personally I feel it’s a bit disheartening to see all this unfold with the masterpiece that is Ghost of Tsushima, a game that has SP, MP & 0 MTs, but let’s review bomb because what again?
But then when are they allowed to do what every other publisher is doing? Sony temporarily allowed it for one game and then when it tried to re-enforce it, people got upset because they were temporarily allowed to use the game without signing in. This game was never promised to anyone without sign in required, so why is there outrage when Sony is doing what everyone else is already doing?
Yup, my point is it may be annoying to some extent but doesn’t justify the outrage. The mistakes I mentioned are mainly arguments for annoyance but weak ones for outrage.
I just hope Ghost of Tsushima sales aren’t affected by this.
Ridiculous. People need to get over this crap with PSN. I'll take it if it means I get to play Playstation games on my pc.
Remember folks, it's not okay for Sony to practice what every other 3rd party company does.
When I had to make a ubisoft account to play wildlands on steam I said to myself, "this is ok." But I am utterly disgusted that Sony would have the gall to require a psn account for the multi-player aspect of GoT. Boycott Sony because this is clearly anti consumer practices and MS should buy Sony just so they can close their doors for good!
/s
I love it! Those same people should all tell Sony off and tell them what if we all just play the SP game for free? I don't have to say how I think we all know that here already 🤣
I mean, if it's on PC and you buy it on Steam you should only need Steam that's it nothing more. Same with GOG, other game stores like Ubishit, Battle.net, etc I don't use but you get the picture. It's getting annoying with all these hoops to go through just to buy and play a game. So Captain Jack Sparrow it is. 😁🏴☠️
@PRIMORDUS
if you buy it on PS4 or PS5, you don't even need a PSN account to play it. and the only account you need to play it online over there is the PSN account, no Steam account is needed. let's see if Valve requires their account for people to play their games on other platforms...oh right, freakin Valve don't make games anymore! same with Alan Wake 2, you don't need Steam account to play it because you only need EGS account because you're buying it there. see how that works?
Ubisoft, EA, Microsoft, R*, Take2, Blizzard...like ALL big companies releasing their games on Steam, PS and xbox have been doing it since FOREVER and JUST NOW people are retaliating because it's Sony doing it? bunch of hypocrites!
It’s sitting at 86% positive and climbing. I wouldn’t call that review bombing. Quit over using popular terms.
Let them whine.
It's what PC players do.
Just make sure you delete every game with a secondary account and see what you have left you hypocrites
"Ghost of Tsushima becomes Steam's top selling paid game", so apparently zero F's were given about the "controversy".
PC gamers are the most toxic community I have ever seen. Just a bunch of whiny annoying man child who cry about everything. It's ok for every other companies to requires a launcher, but a simple account is not ok? The sad part is that pc gamers are all bark and no bite, they have no balls. They are too weak to go through with their threats. It's funny some of those bad reviews have hours on record and that number keep increasing because for a game they don't like, they keep playing it. That also make them hypocrites.
Glad I am not enough of a PC gamer to associate with that community, wouldn't want to be associated with that filth. I might catch something and become dumber.
Imagine if instead of wasting their time on such stupid problems like that, if they fought for something that was truly important and mattered, the world might see some positive change.
I think the gaming community is just toxic. Period. I'm a PC gamer near exclusively, but I don't care whatever hardware you use to play whatever new release. The fact that a system I built 7 years ago can still play games at a high level seems to upset people. I'm not saying I'm running everything on Ultra w/ raytracing, but I'm getting parity with the latest consoles. That just seems to rub folks the wrong way, and then both sides begin to get defensive. Both have their advantages & disadvantages. Plug a game into a Playstation, and It'll work as it should just about 100% of the time and be stable to the devs specs (mostly) PC gives you more options to mod, or just run stuff better than a console if you're hardware is capable, and far better sales are available. The flip side is that PC will get some truly god awful ports that are complete messes, and sometimes stuff just won't work lol.
Since this article posted I've seen it jump from 83% to 86%. Not a very effective review bomb campaign, lol.
They won't day 1 games, but you will see more games on PC. They'll wait until they squeeze the console market then when nothing's left, they'll release on PC, especially since PC gamers are going insane over 4 year old games.
So, let me see if I understand. Is this like me having to sign into my Amazon Prime account to watch the WNBA League Pass on Prime? If so, what is the problem with this?
Slight difference. With Prime, you need an app to launch the video.
With HD2 and GoT, you just need the account, an overlay pops up and you're done.
Sucks that a great game can be review bombed. Negative reviews should be because of it’s failings as a game from a design or technical stand point.
Sony really should not have these specific games on PC like before. Helldrivers and other Gaas/mp focused games should be the exception.
Hard disagree. Good on Sony taking games elsewhere two years later. They're selling the exclusivity of access early and not limiting its scope to just that platform for all time.
Don’t change shit Sony. If they want to play your games they have to get free psn accounts just like they have steam, Xbox, ea, etc accounts. They’ll give in eventually.
Top selling Steam game. Shows you how pathetic gamers are. All talk. Still buying the game.
Gamers want to say review sites are disingenuous with false high scores. But this is okay? Right.
I get it. Having to sign in to games sucks. Some consoles games have this too, and it affects my review of those games. No game can be 10/10 when it adds this kind of frustration.
yall are crybabies. Xbox has been doing this forever and nobody does anything about it. I had to make a Xbox account just to play Forza Horizon 5 and I didn't lose a limb over it
It's getting Xbox treatment. Stop review bombing over something the devs can't control. If PC gamers wanna play console games you gotta pay the toll
It’s a great game.
Sony is going to require signing in from now on for their new games if it has online capabilities from the start so you may as well make a PS account, stop buying the games or get a PS console.
