Game Rant talks to Spike Chunsoft about bringing back the classic Shiren the Wanderer series with new title The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island.
With Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon out on the Nintendo 3DS last year and Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate gracing Vitas two weeks ago, you may have developed a taste for tough-as-nails dungeon-crawlers. Roguelikes are on the rise. But then, when it comes to these Spike Chunsoft joints, they always have been.
Spike Chunsoft has opened the official website for its Shiren the Wanderer roguelike series’ 20th anniversary.
There’s a Terraria demo available in Japan and if you download it before August 20 you’ll get a Monokuma, Shiren the Wanderer, and six other PSN avatars.
Game runs perfectly on the steamdeck via Yuzu. Crazy hard though, hardest entry in the series, would recommend dice of fate as the funnest mechanics are unlocked right away and not locked behind postgame like serpentcoil.
