Michael Kitchin writes, "Anyone looking to revisit the Top Racer series will have a blast with this collection. The racing remains fluid and engrossing. Having all three games here means players can see how the series evolved over time, although Top Racer Crossroads feels more like tweak on existing content rather than something wholly new. Online multiplayer is a welcome addition whilst autosaves and save states makes individual races easier to repeat. I don't think the new menus combine well with the older graphics but the effort that's gone into this product is pretty commendable."
Review - You should be giving Top Racer Collection on Xbox a bit of a whirl, left to embrace the nostalgia.
This Top Racer Collection review will tell you why each of the included games does little to convince you to return to the past.
Should have stayed in the past, but sometimes I think I should have too! Lol, I'll pick this up anyways and I have no disillusions that they're great by today's standards. It's just like watching old corny low budget 80's movies, sometimes it's just fun to revisit the schlock. This is definitely only for the old farts, I can't see the younger generation caring, unless they just have a burning desire to learn about gaming history. Comparatively, I have been enjoying the Jurassic Park collection recently, and the games stand up terribly today.. but I love them. :)
**I'll wait until a sale at 9.99 or under though.
This was called Top Gear in the UK back in the day. Piko picked it up a while back once its licence had lapsed and renamed it to Top Racer. Used to love it on the snes, particularly TG2
