Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "Not every video game is for everyone, and at a time when there are more people playing games than ever, that’s perfectly acceptable. Moreover, it’s commercially viable – these days even something offbeat has a good chance of finding its niche. It may seem strange to introduce The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island – the sixth entry in a long running series – this way, but those who’ve played past instalments will likely have an inkling where this is going."

Review - Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island (Switch) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Eduardo Rebouças: "Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island certainly succeeds at providing just enough clues of what’s possibly at the other end of the wall to make the arduous journey to climb it one that you’d want to partake in. It’s the sort of game where your investment won’t necessarily equal a tangible result no matter how much to kick and scream at it. Instead, it’s something that feeds our curiosity, and in that, there’s something to be said about having this be your entryway into this, one of gaming’s obscure and at the same time most influential of series. After having played it, I can finally add Shiren the Wanderer to my resume all the while keeping a bookmark at it and eventually circle back to it for another go."

It doesn’t sound like you beat the game so this score is a problem for me (if you didn’t) Endings of games should factor into the score and what comes inbetween as well. If you just give a score of what you played it should be clearly stated this is an impression of the game score and not a total score of the entire game.
