WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "Let me clarify that, whilst Silent Hill: The Short Message wasn’t exactly the kind of game we were all waiting for, it’s not entirely that bad. It’s a mixed bag of a horror experience, with a story which tried to deal with some heavy personal themes (not exactly new ground for the series, mind you), only to fall short in its execution. Regardless, it’s still worth giving a shot. There is stuff to like in here, and let me reiterate the fact that it’s free, and brief. It’s not particularly a risky investment."
Interview with Fadile Waked, Actress for (Anita) in Silent Hill: The Short Message, a game that she had no idea that she was part of. With Konami providing little context and insight.
Silent Hill: The Short Message is a true Silent Hill game that delves head first into psychological horror.

Gary Green writes: Silent Hill is a series that has now become famous for its ups and downs. While I could pick the whole series apart game by game, we’ll skip ahead and say the last few games didn’t exactly set the world on fire. However, Silent Hill was long overdue for a revival, a revival originally helmed by Konami veteran Hideo Kojima of Metal Gear Solid fame, yet this wasn’t to be.
