Really Bethesda? Come on

We could have gotten to explore more of the regions or revisit old ones with another developer making them. Would have shortened the time between releases of the main games.

Just thinking about what could've been. Maybe they didn't wanna be showed up on their flagship title Ala new vegas compared to fallout 3 and 4

phoenixwing139d ago

it's not that hard to show them up when they're like 20 years behind in terms of engine and development skills. If they had gotten the go ahead i guarantee it would have been better than anything they'd made recently.

anast139d ago

Bethesda didn't and still doesn't do above the bare minimum.

cammers1995139d ago

The issue here was Bethesda was butthurt that obsidian managed to develop a better fallout game at the time (new vegas) than theirs (fo3) so they didn't allow it.

It's funny how they're both owned by Microsoft now. They should be able to work together now.

Sony And Bend Studio Need To Bring Back Syphon Filter, Not Some Vain Live Service

The iconic stealth-action Syphon Filter series is nowhere to be seen, while Sony's busy planning more ridiculous live services.

Skuletor2d ago

Sometimes bringing back an old IP is like digging up a corpse and peeing on it, just look at Duke Nukem Forever, be careful what you wish for.

Jingsing2d ago

You are essentially asking Sony to make a better game than MGSV. That is risky given were stealth action games are right now.

Eonjay2d ago

If Sony can make a multiplayer component to go with a story mode like the great PSP games I think people would like this alot.

ApocalypseShadow2d ago

I've always wanted a reboot of Syphon Filter 1 at the quality level of Uncharted 2 or better. But the game has been abandoned like many previous Sony games that made other generations memorable.

The music, the voices, the story, the weapons and the amazing Taser were awesome for the time. The boss battles cool. But Bend and Sony don't care about bringing it back. About as bad as many other properties from Sega, Capcom, Namco, Konami, etc that we'd love but won't be getting.

Psychonaut851d 22h ago

Yup. Seems like Sony is dialing back on the live service plans but not completely. I wish they’d just can them in general. Maybe just let Bungie do Marathon and pivot everyone else.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv723d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast3d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM3d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife2d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit2d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife2d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!
