GTA Online going offline for millions of Windows 7 and 8 users next year

Rockstar has announced that support for GTA Online on older PCs will end in January, although that doesn’t have anything to do with GTA 6.

GTA 5 didn’t get to 185 million copies sold by only being popular on one format. In fact, it’s achieved the seemingly impossible by remaining one of the top selling games of its generation… for three generations in a row.

All good things do come to an end though and while there’s still no real hint as to when GTA 6 might be revealed, Rockstar has already stopped support for GTA Online on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And now they’re planning to do the same for Windows 7 and 8.

Windows 7 was a great OS TBH, up there with XP. 98 was quite decent too.

I skipped 8 and went straight to 10 as soon as it released, I know there's 11 but I haven't tried it, and AFAIK there's another one due as well? So much for 10 being the last OS with frequent updates. I don't get the point in Windows 11 if 12 (or whatever they'll call it) will replace it so soon.

I hated having to leave behind Windows 7. Windows 10 has been decent though. Can't really complain too much. Definitely not a fan of 11. I keep refusing the "free" upgrade Windows keeps trying to shove down my throat lol.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
