Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle Will Be Available Starting Oct. 20

Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed that the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 console bundle will be available starting October 20, 2023, which is day and date with the launch of the upcoming superhero sequel.

I think hogwarts has that locked in to be honest. It's still flying high in the charts several months on. I doubt even SM2 will be as popular as the juggernaut that is the HP world. Especially since its only on a 40m install base vs a 300m one.

Zelda: ToK already has close to 19M and that is with a 130M console base.
Hogwarts Legacy was at 15M back in May and that is with PC + Xbox Series/XOne + PS4/PS5.

Not really. After all if you look up to the top of the page you will see a Spiderman Bundle. If this is the main SKU for the holiday, that's a good 10-12 million on its own easily. Hitting a 20%-25% attach rate on the units already out there is still a mighty tall order but it is very doable. Lifetime Spider Man 2 will outsell both Hogwarts and Zelda but as far as end of the year goes I agree with you.

There isnt a chance on this planet Spiderman 2 will sell more than Hogwarts tbh the franchise and audience is too big. Hogwarts was at 15 million just on PS5, XB and PC sales. Then there's PS4/XONE on top of that and it's not even out on Switch till next month. That's a massive amount of people buying it and its not even really had a proper sale yet. SM1 likely hasn't even hit 25 million sales yet and I'd guess hogwarts has. That games doing 50m lifetime. As big as much as I love Spiderman it ain't getting close to that, especially being NG only.

Spiderman 2 will be the best selling game on the PS5.
Mario Wonder will sell a ton too. Switch is harder to predict because I don't know if it will overtake Zelda but it can.
The best selling game of the year will still probably be multiplat so I think either Call of Duty or Hogwarts.

The wording 'The New Playstation 5 Console' is strange and seems to be hinting at the rumoured PS5 slim.

I thought that but Sony seem to be discounting the current PS5 model to clear all stock of it so an annoucement of a new PS5 model now would likely deter people from buying the current model as a lot of people would wait for the new model, Sony don't want that so i assume that is why it has not been announced.
I agree it would make sense to bundle a new model with Spiderman 2.

Well spotted but my thinking is the image of the current PS5 is just to keep the 'new' PS5 a secret until the 20th. Also in the bottom left of the picture is the image disclaimer saying 'Design and specifications are subject to change without notice'. Why title the tweet 'The New playstation 5 Console' if it's not a new PS5? I accept you could be right, I am just leaning towards it being a new PS5 model because of the title wording, rumours and price cut to the current PS5. It could always just end up being the same PS5 but with a slightly bigger SSD rather than a 'slim'.
