Forget Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077's free 2.0 patch is a staggering upgrade on its own

This is not the RPG you played in 2020.

bunt-custardly230d ago

Yeh this seems to be the common theme among those already playing. If you look at the character build planner you can already sense that it's quite different than before.

senorfartcushion230d ago (Edited 230d ago )

Finally completed the base game. Only took two more years then planned. Imagine if you spent more time making smarter release schedules as a team instead of taking terrible release schedules from one wealthy idiot...

No idea why they go out of their way to be consumer friendly when as soon as they stumble everyone forgets all the good they’ve done and grabs the pitchforks. Easily one of the best developers out there, never pushes mt’s even though there games are huge and expensive. Cyberpunk cost like 300 million to make I’m sure the reality was they had to get the game out. Considering I knew with their record they’d be constantly updating it like they did with the Witcher including tons of free content it’s baffling how people lost their mind. Everyone crying that they should have postponed it again Wtf wouldn’t u just wait 3 months to play it considering it’s the same as them delaying it and the rest of us could still enjoy it. Man the internets full of irrational idiots. Bg3 sold there game at full price for early access maybe cdpr should just do that for all there games from here on out even though there really no difference. Hopefully cdpr doesn’t say f it it’s not worth trying to make overly ambitious games, let’s play it safe and save ourselves the headache and load up the mt’s

deadfrag230d ago

Well finally time to play this. Its been on my ssd since day one but after never got any further them the entry level..This days the best way to enjoy the full potential of the games is to buy them after the developer state that no more updates incoming for there game, even if it takes two or more years.

Psychonaut85230d ago

Bought it day one and put it down after like 3 hours. Looks like it’s time to jump back in.

-Foxtrot230d ago

Yeah…still gonna wait until the very end once they do some “Complete” version with everything in and they stop supporting it.

I just don’t trust them sorry to say.

Tacoboto230d ago

They deliberately screwed over their console fans, issued their totally-genuine apologies, and now that they're riding the goodwill train again with Overdrive RT and a current-gen exclusive Expansion with another hot actor, they're trying to rewrite the story around how that initial release was received.

I don't trust them either. They've already said any RED Engine and Cyberpunk work after this will be maintenance only too.

-Foxtrot230d ago

Yeah

The issue is people fall for this because anything after what they put out is autoamtically going to be good...it's a given but that dosen't make things suddenly right.

What they promised and what we got was night and day, even this is nothing on what they made their game out to be.

Also why the f*** would you spend all that money getting a big shot actor like Idris Elba when that money could have been put to more useful things. It was said that when Keanu Revees signed on they suddenly changed a shit load of things which is why everything probably feels so disjointed, yet they decided to go with another big actor?

They don't need that kind of publicity and the money should be going to a better QA team or something

Tacoboto230d ago

"that money could have been put to more useful things"

Ahh see, that's leftover F-U money from when they bragged about the game being profitable already a day before they released the most broken AAA title in modern history.

Eidolon229d ago (Edited 229d ago )

With its broken-ness in correlation to hype and budget it has to be at the top by far. Consoles got it the worst, and they had to remove it from some digital stores.. what a mess.

esherwood229d ago (Edited 229d ago )

I played on Xbox when it released with zero game breaking bugs. They just need to say it’s early access and sell for full price to keep u morons from losing ur shit. Don’t think any reasonable people thought they wouldn’t fix everything and just like they did with Witcher deliver a lot of free content also. The game was already one of the most expensive games ever so I’m sure they were running out of options. Im glad it released when it did because I enjoyed it. Maybe u people shouldn’t buy games day one considering how upset you get when it’s not up to your expectations, it’s the same as them delaying it and it lets the rest of us enjoy it then come back later to enjoy all the new content

Well they are using unreal engine now thanks to there work culture and horrific job on making cyberpunk so for the future no impact.

But it will be interesting to see what mods will be made

7 disagrees shows how many look at one dlc that had a rip off fight from ghost in the shell and goes wow what a goat team i love cdpr while ignoring that they only made 2 games that were good witcher 2/3 in 20yrs.

But its a new world we want a criminal that support's legal murder as president/support shoplifting love toxic work environments and have a mass casualty event every other day.

GhostMirror10d ago

I’ll admit I didn’t play it at launch, but Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game now.

And who the hell knows what you’re even going on about in your second paragraph here.

EazyC11d ago

Wait a min...I swear to god CP2077's source code got leaked before. CDPR needs to stop using "password123" for all their accounts 😅

just_looken10d ago

Na its hundreds ex employees no doubt just getting there revenge.

Profchaos10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

This is the same leak the threat actors have been trying to sell the source code after cd project didn't pay the ransom.

They didn't manage to sell the source code to any company largely because it would be unethical for say EA to buy it so the threat actors failed to find a buyer.

After they failed to make any money they went through with their threat of simply giving it away.

They will need to add everything they promised in the first one and not over promise on the second one.

just_looken11d ago

They also need to drop esg then hire employees that have knowledge not hire them because they have a set of tits.

Official video they hired people to fill the esg clipboard

Hofstaderman11d ago (Edited 11d ago )

As somebody who has been playing the tabletop games since the 90s and was let down on launch by my PS4 version, you can bet I'm not going the preorder any sequel.

nmbr1esq10d ago

3rd person option, and everything else that was originally promised. Next don't force agenda driven naratives. Finally, release a finished product without need for day one patches.
