If I was a Bethesda employee I'd consider quitting to become a modder of Bethesda games and earn more money.

Vits268d ago

Well, he does more than only Bethesda titles. His offerings include stuff from EA, Rockstar, FromSoftware and even Sony. And the Patreon is to access all of that.

Still a lot of money though. More than what many emulators get, for example.

ChasterMies268d ago

Allegedly because the game hasn’t been out a month.

sadraiden267d ago

The game was cracked on the day it was released, so maybe he's on track to make 40k this month, but that doesn't have quite the same ring as making shit up?

Yung-T267d ago

Nothing was made up, as the article directly showed his patreon numbers and explains that this isn't just about Starfield.
You could try reading the articles instead of claiming authors are "making shit up".

mjchitown267d ago (Edited 267d ago )

where was it cracked, cause thats a lie and you know it. the game comes out tomorrow

jivah267d ago

@ mjchitown Dodi and Fitgirl have released repacks of the game posted since Sep 2nd. Its not an argument or discussion. And I know this because i have it installed right now. Wanted to try it out. And no i wont link to such downloads.

Fishy Fingers267d ago (Edited 267d ago )

No, already making 40k from his existing Patreon mod catalog (which this is a part off), not because of this one Starfield mod.

Yung-T267d ago

This, crazy how 99% of people on this side don't seem to read the actual articles, but comment.

gold_drake267d ago

so, he mods games and earns 40k from his patreon, not just because of this one game.

StarkR3ality267d ago

Good, people doing work should be paid, if Bethesda omit basic features like this and someone take advantage, good for them.

shadowhaxor267d ago

Doesn't mean much, as he's constantly updating it. He could just add more DRM to it. It stinks that someone is helping make the game better,r and wants to get paid for their services, only for someone to eny them the price of a nice cup of coffee.

PRIMORDUS267d ago

This all could have been avoided if they just included DLSS as well, like other games.

I feel like the second big update that releases late this year will do just that. Part of the story expansion is also new means of transportation on planets.

P_Bomb5d ago

A good DLC could turn some heads. The Destiny games got momentum that way too.

piher5d ago

What player spike?

I checked steamcharts through the link in the article and it went from 8,000 to 11.500, so yea 20% but when the game peaked at 330,000 It's safe to say that the actual effect of this update was negligible.

LostPotato5d ago

Doubt it'll ever get redemption. As many developers have said in various interviews it's beyond saving.

Just release the mod tools and expansion and move on.

Profchaos5d ago

Cyberpunk 2077 had some strong bones i disliked it on launch because I could see the potential I could see the strengths of what they wanted to achieve but it wasn't done yet

They didn't get the memo the game is dead and the Bethesdabots only want magic and fantasy.

Boy_the_CowRoy4d ago

Starfield fans? The game only has 9 thousand current players, worldwide! As a company you cannot waste time on creating "Major features", it is simply not profitable. Just move on.
