Starfield community hopes RPG will fulfil Star Citizen's empty promises

Many of those excited for Starfield are hoping that the RPG will succeed where Star Citizen has left them hanging.

Yeah why don't we just wait and see. Personally Star Citizen seems like a overgrown tech demo that keeps sucking money to me but hey if SC fans don't mind, then good for them. As for Starfield it's a very different game with very different goals, let us play it before anointing it as a "generational game" or calling for its doom because its not like game A, B, C, D, and E.

The janky graphics will not do a lot of the people that like Star Citizen. In fact, there are threads about Star Citizen fans complaining how the graphics are looking old already. Imagine they fire up a good 'ol Bethesda clunker.

and yes, Bethesda RPGs never win awards for their graphics at launch, due their scope
(except Oblivion of course back in 2006, which launched with some cutting-edge visual tech back then on PC, only its jarring facial expression animation was its weakpoint),
but I'll say Starfield looks fairly decent and competitive, as compared to how Skyrim looked in 2011 and Fallout 4 in 2015.
Starfield is not looking jaw dropping for 2023 but not that hideous either.
^ this is an unbiased observation, mind you. Not hailing Starfield as revolutionary or anything.

Star Citizen is a con job that will never be relesed. I mean that was obvious like 10 years ago. It should not mentioned along with actual games.

Star Citizen already has more than Starfield so that makes no sense. But Star Citizen won’t fully release as long as they can keep milking money

No man sky can do a little bit more than Starfield as well, like landing vehicles and flying in every planet's atmosphere in real time that I find comical because it's from an indie developer

With Star Citizen, I feel they should have gone the route of Elite Dangerous and released a playable 'finished' game and then add more stuff and polish with the update patches as time went on. It seems that the stuff you can do now is cool (if unfinished) but how long are they going to keep trying to 'perfect' the game until it 'goes gold'?

I would compare it more with Elite Dangerous Odyssey since that game is actually in the wild. I was hoping that Odyssey would come to consoles but, since that was scrapped, now I'm looking forward to seeing what Starfield can bring. I'm generally pleased with what Starfield has shown so far and time will tell if they actually deliver on it. I'm still a little bummed that there is not more freedom of flight control with your ship (manual takeoffs/landing anywhere, atmo-flight) but I'm still hopeful about what modders may be able to bring to the table.

I threw a couple tenners at Star Citizen for a starter pack during the time they promised Squadron 42 with it. All I want is for them to finish that singleplayer version, any multiplayer is just bonus to me for that money, but will it ever happen...

I'm excited for the articles about how much cheese sandwitch players put on a single Starfield tables and how putting sandwitch on a table is cool. Star citizen has no moveable food objects which says a lot.
