Sorry Link, But Street Fighter 6 Is My Game of The Year

Nameer from eXputer writes, "Despite Tears of the Kingdom being the most universally acclaimed game of 2023, Street Fighter 6 remains my game of the year."

You noticed he said sorry Link, because everyone knows that Tears of the Kingdom will win GOTY. It's inevitable at this point

Liking any game is actually subjective.

If you are a player that is a fan of fighting games it may be possible that you are not keen on Role Playing Games (RPG's) and likewise if you are a fan of RPG's you may not be keen on fighting games. Even people who like RPG's may prefer Japanese RPG's to Western RPG's and vice versa. So lets not get into the "I prefer X over Y" meme.

Basically "Tears of the Kingdom" is a Zelda RPG that is only avalable on the Nintendo Switch while Street Fighter 6 is available for the Playstation (4 and 5), Xbox (S and X) as well as Arcade and Microsoft Windows. Having said that shouldn't we be comparing RPG's to RPG's or Fighting games to Fighting games?

Personally I don't have any issues with Zelda games having played and enjoyed many, however I only have a PS4 and PS5 so I have no intension in purchasing a Nintendo Switch just to play a particular game. For those who do have a Switch and are considering playing "Tears of the Kingdom" all the reviews seem to point to it being a really good game if you like RPG's (actually I consider Zelda games to be action/adventure RPG's).

For me is Hogwarts Legacy until now.
I did not expect nothing from the game then it blew my mind. It is amazing even if you have 30 minutes to play you will always have something to do some mission minigame minidungeon or advancing in the main story. Cannot wait for the sequel.

Hogwarts Legacy rode the undeserved controversy train and so many little things were swept under the rug.

I must've picked up the gobstone in the outdoor courtyard like five times. Your character is always "they" because they really didn't record two audio tracks. Shadows break up when your character covers the shadow-casting object. There's an obscene amount of repeated phrasing when going into Hogsmeade and the shop runners around repeat the same lines to you constantly! I don't need to be thanked for doing that early-game delivery to the unpleasant customer every single time I go into that store.

It's a very good game that exceeded my expectations considering their history as a Disney licensed-movie game developer, but its formula is incredibly derivative of Ubisoft's open world structure, with repetitive dialog (that doesn't even address you like you're there) and mission variety.

I had too many issues to call it goty. Same with Jedi Survivor unfortunately. Crazy hogwarts ended up getting a pass by reviewers and jedi didnt tho.

I’ll play Zelda this year, I’ll play SF6 somewhere in the future when there’s a complete edition.

Smart move. We all know they'll release multiple editions before the inevitable complete one.

For me it’s Resident Evil 4 remake. I do enjoy Street Fighter 6 as well.
