Microsoft confirms MGS3 & other games featured in Playstation Showcase are coming to Xbox

Microsoft tweeted the list of 1st & 3rd party games from PlayStation Showcase, that are also coming to Xbox.

To be fair, I did notice during the PS Showcase that afterwards they only showed “PS5” or “PS4 PS5 PC” at the bottom so I did actually have to do a quick Google search to see what titles were coming to other platforms.

I’m not sure if Microsoft show other platforms their games are coming to following the trailer but it did seem a bit strange.

It was actually a good move strategy wise whether you like Xbox or not. It takes what was already a sub par Sony showcase and makes it even worse because pretty much every game Sony showed is coming to Xbox other than ff16, Spider-Man, and phantom blade. Now Microsoft can show games that aren’t coming to Sony. If you know anything about sales and advertising you can’t deny this was a good move by Microsoft. They don’t have to waste time showing any of those games at their own showcase and can focus on the stuff that is exclusive. What you got straight after the showcase was the Xbox Twitter account making clear that many of the games shown for PS5 will also be available on Xbox. Fine, that's the social media account doing its job and pacifying its user base and persons considering buying a PS5 to play these games.

However, the worst part is that head of Xbox PHIL SPENCER retweeted this which smacks of desperation.

His business philosophy is to take games away from other player bases and then takes delight when the competition reveals third party multiplatform games. There is a dissonance here because it then puts more pressure on Sony to get third party exclusives so it actually lessons the chance of multiplatform games being released.

Sony showed 33 games only 12 of those games are going to be on xbox. So they showed more than 20 that WILL NOT be on xbox.

Nearly daily games get announced that aren't on xbox but are on Playstation and or Switch. Xbox has BY FAR the smallest library of the three consoles.

You guys can try to spin this event however you want, but xbox is still last and PlayStation and Switch are still selling 3-4+ times and many consoles and software.

Nah no way it's releasing in november. It's releasing sometime in September, going head to head with starfield. It's going to be a MASSIVE juggernaut and will make starfield look meh. That being said, I was VERY disappointed with this showcase. They are clearly holding stuff back, probably due to the ABK aquisition. Think that is pretty stupid imo. There are a number of high profile studios that should have been at this showcase. Naughty dog, bluepoint, bend, sucker punch, guerilla, firepsrite. Plus others like London and asobi.

On point, the showcase was serviceable but not stellar. For me the highlights was that new swordplay game and metal gear solid three remake, metal gear solid collection and Spider-Man 2. Tow of these are multi platform. I feel that there there was no need to release another trailer for FFXVI as people are already sold on that title and that a launch trailer down the line would have sufficed. I rate the showcase at 70/100.

Now let’s see the XBOX showcase. I have a sneaking suspicion there will be a ton of third party multi platform titles too. And Starfield.

Sales wise Spider-Man 2 will be the Olympic Sprinter selling faster than Starfield for little bit. While Starfield is that Olympic marathon runner. Selling more over time considering the game is allot bigger in size and scope. Of course that's IF SF lives up to the hype.

MS’s showcase was basically the same last year. The only big 1st party games that they showed were Redfall (Which was terrible), Forza, and Starfield and both games are still not out. I had this feeling a lot shown in the Sony video wasn't exclusive, seems odd to show case 3rd party titles like that. Gives a false impression that these were exclusive or timed exclusive. Felt like the wool was being pulled over my eyes at times.

It hardly matters since 80 to 90% of all games that release across all 3 consoles sell best on playstation anyway, with only a small handful doing better on Nintendo (not counting exclusives, timed or otherwise)
