World Wide for month of April 2023

PS5 -------- 1,345,894 units sold
Switch ----- 1,273,752 units sold
Xbox S/X --- 372,859 units sold

I didn't expect Series S and X to be that low

ZeekQuattro377d ago

Yeah those S/X numbers feel like it's for a system in its final years. I'm pumped for Starfield but I don't think that game will change Microsoft's fortunes all that much.

Sonic1881377d ago

I don't think it will sell a lot of copies either because it's launching on gamepass

Switch gonna have extra legs with Tears of the Kingdom.

italiangamer377d ago

Switch gonna have that pesky third leg with Tears of the Kingdom 👀😏

darkrider377d ago

Why? No games or just Flops. The only talk of Microsoft for years is buying publishers. No hype. Microsoft was lucky with the supply problems of the ps5 for the start of this Gen. Only that.

Chevalier377d ago

Where are the regular Xbox fans that comment here? 🤔

Aloymetal377d ago

One of them is already here spamming with his sodium overdose lmao.

To busy with that fairy acquisition with zero games. Third place is permanent.

Phil: No! It's necessary!

“I didn't expect Series S and X to be that low”

Not to kick a horse when it’s down… but... I feel the Xbox community is loosing faith. Even Spencer seems to have, in his recent interview at IGN. Although I’m suspecting that was a bit of an act for anti competitive regulators. Still, the effect on consumers is real.

MrNinosan376d ago

His interview with Kinda Funny was absolutely a blow to all Xbox fans.

ChasterMies376d ago

Ouch. Phil Spencer meant it when he said Microsoft can’t out-console Sony and Nintendo. I’m still curious about how many Series S consoles are in the wild. At some point, maybe already, developers are going to have to leave Series S behind. You can’t push the envelope for PS5 and Series X if you also have to work with the 4 tf in the Series S. This makes the true current gen install base for Xbox even smaller.

potatoseal376d ago

I'm pretty sure they've sold more series S consoles than Series X. Which is crazy to think about. They should have went with just one console. This 2 console release thing was a huge mistake imo

Hot cakes: "We sell so fast, they made an idiom about us"!

Sully, back in 2021, I remember a few comments here saying that this gen will be different, with a close and stiff competition and even before that, how the project ''Scarlet'' was going to take over the world...

@Guzzler, how does it feels to be a fan of the most irrelevant platform? I know being salty and upset because MS can't win even with trillions in the bank, must be embarrassing but please tell me more about your feelings.

@H2023 aka the spammer with another account here.
Now, this may hurt a bit but repeat with me, ''The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console worldwide with 1,345,894 units sold''...Go ahead.

And then people exclaimed about how close the sales were... Others tried to tell them that the chip shortage was skewing supply and that did not represent demand, but they wouldn't listen, they just blew their horns.

Even Microsoft knew the chip shortage was an opportunity, which is why they penned the deals to further limit supply of chips to PlayStation. I expect that move wasn't lost on the regulators when evaluating Microsoft's 'competitive' tactics.

I wonder if the bosses at the hot cake factory use the phrase they are selling as fast as PlayStation's when they have a good month.

Sony needs to do their games day 1 on PC.
Aha... sure.

darkrider377d ago

Yeah. Right. To flop another gen like others

Stanjara377d ago

Yup, top story today is totally ridiculous. Numbers don't lie.

The Wood376d ago

Never understood the brain think that believes sony should copy last place's methods.

italiangamer377d ago

That sweet japanese dominance, thank God for them otherwise this medium would have been dead for so many years already.
