Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Has Vast Size Difference Between Its Xbox Series X|S Versions

The game's Series X edition will take almost 100 GB more space than its Series S counterpart.

Next Friday can't come soon enough. This is where the fun begins.

Those are some big file sizes.

Vengeance1138387d ago

Not surprising considering how much they'd need to remove from the Series S version just to have it run.

SullysCigar387d ago

This. I'd imagine the series S will be the smallest, due to lower resolution textures, etc. PS5 will be next size up, thanks to it's compression technology, and series X will take up the most space.

Ryuk_2007386d ago

147 GB on PS5, 139GB on Series X and 44GB on Series S.

GotGame818386d ago

The difference between PS5 and Series X is 8gb. Not a big difference.

^ Thanks for those figures, @Ryu, not what I expected, but interesting nonetheless. Series X and PS5 are much closer than I thought they'd be, too. How ever you play it, it's BIG!

Moegooner386d ago

They didn't utilise the PS5 compression technology. Too large tbh. Pass

I know, you can´t talk right now. You´re eating crow. XD

^ LMAO! @Obscure_Observer, if you look right above your comment, you'll see I finished my crow 3 HOURS AGO when I responded. Lucky I saved you some, as you'll be needing it right about now, huh...

I'm surprised the PS5 is bigger then the series x. It should be much smaller if decent compression was used. Unless it's using higher texture assets. We'll see soon enough.

Large file sizes though,lol

I’m no rocket scientist but is this due to 4K textures for one and not the other?

Workshyskiver386d ago

Yes, the textures are much smaller due to the lower resolution deployed, as it should be. The real story is how much of a downgrade the visuals are, if not at all then its a non story.

Shane Kim386d ago (Edited 386d ago )

Are they not downgraded if they aren't 4k textures?

Gh0stman89386d ago

I'm more curious what else is downgraded. Possibly lower poly meshes too. I know the PC version of Callisto Protocol had an option to select mesh quality as well as environmental quality. If this game used similar preparation it's possible the Series S uses lower assets across the board. I have a Series S and enjoy it as a budget entry point but it's getting harder to treat it as interchangable with the X minus resolution. It's a completely different console to account for in development.
