Resident Evil 4 Microtransactions for Weapon Upgrade Tickets Surfaces Alongside Mercenaries DLC

Capcom has dished out some Resident Evil 4 microtransactions with the Mercenaries DLC, with the listings now appearing on digital storefronts.

Knushwood Butt387d ago

Wouldn't surprise me if they sold boxes of ammo for cash.

just_looken387d ago

Hey make it a ingame vending machine

Just like what happened in real life last ukraine soldiers were using starlink when there subscription ran out. I saw videos were they had to make a account and pay for it like sirus xm radio while in combat. Hey russia do not shoot i am on hold.

So capcom can be like hey you want to stop that zombie hord? then go to that vending machine with your ____ wallet be it steam/psn/microsoft.

Sounds bad but with lootbox getting the boot do to government oversite they need another way to pay for golden parachutes.

Dont give then any ideas lol! They’ll patch the game so no ammunition is dropped

XiNatsuDragnel387d ago

Sigh really? Like mercenaries yes but weapon upgrade tickets sigh

excaliburps387d ago

Well, at least it's just the tickets, no? I mean, it can be earned in-game, but it's there for those who don't want to connect Spinels. Outfits and these are the safe ones, I gather. There's not much else to milk in terms of MTX since it's a finished game.

Rude-ro387d ago

“BlBut it’s there for.. commercial reason”

Gaming has digressed vs the money it pulls in.
Heck… if it were not for Sony actually pushing gaming, we would still be playing Pac-Man but with micro transactions.
Stuffing rereleases with micro transactions for a full price is why gaming is beyond stupid outside of Sony

XbladeTeddy387d ago (Edited 387d ago )

WTF are you even saying excaliburps? Teletubbies talk better English and their bellends.

CrimsonWing69387d ago (Edited 387d ago )

You don’t have to buy it. I’ve gotten all weapons and most upgraded to the max just by doing a few playthroughs and that’s including the exclusive upgrade for the weapon.

This is literally nothing to sigh about. If people don’t want to put in the work and just want a gun’s exclusive perk unlocked, Capcom is giving them the option.

Again, you can easily get multiple guns fully upgraded in a single playthrough.

XiNatsuDragnel387d ago (Edited 387d ago )

It's precedent of a tickets needing to exist I want to remember where had to unlock things w no purchasing these tickets. Yes its an option but it's a bad one imo. If people don't wanna put in the work then Don't play the game tbh those ppl no offense just ruin gaming with these tickets so I'm going to keep sighing.

YodaCracker387d ago

Weapon upgrade tickets already exist in the game. You can trade spinels for them. This doesn’t bother me one bit because it’s a single player game and doesn’t affect the experience of anyone else.

CrimsonWing69387d ago

@XiNatsuDragnel

It literally has no bearing on your experience. Like I said before you can unlock all the gun upgrades without a single purchase of these tickets.

This is virtually no different than what they did with Devil May Cry 5 and upgrade items. You absolutely will not have a hampered experience with these existing, these literally are for people who don’t have time or want to speed up the process.

I have no idea how this is a “bad option” other than we have a mentality that if a publisher offers microtransactions it’s automatically a bad thing.

People who are pressed for time or don’t want to grind to get an upgrade absolutely deserve to play. Nothing is ruined in RE4 Remake by these existing. I, personally, think having the option is fine.

wiz7191386d ago

@XiNatsudragnel but in game you only get 2 with a bunch of other weapons you might want to spend them on. It’s gamers like you who ruin gaming , complain about options that have no effect on nobody but the people who decide to buy them. You telling people that not to game if they don’t put in the work , but like @Crimsonwing said not everybody have the time to spend doing the side quest. They just want to get through the story and enjoy the game. Like I also said it more weapons then tickets available in game anyway lol so you grind all you want in the game ..

XiNatsuDragnel386d ago

@Crimson fair enough but that's problem with gaming these days its too accommodating if someone doesn't have time then hey don't play it simple and @wiz it's gamers like me who want old-fashioned gaming and not this saturation bs yes I agree with options but giving simple accommodate with real money It's not fun it takes Away from the enjoyment of going to side missions and doing these journeys to unlock your weapons. Gaming is a fun experience that we'll journey on not shortcuts.

Kinda knew this was coming seeing the crappy gacha and how crazy expensive everything is. Capcom may be getting closer bit by bit to their old scummy days if they go further lol.

jambola387d ago

I swear
Resident evil 4 does bad things to Capcom

XxINFERNUSxX387d ago

On the PC you can just use a trainer: https://flingtrainer.com/tr... If you want to increase weapon damage, no reload, max money, max spinels etc. No need to buy shit.

The 10 PSVR 2 Games You Should Own

If you're looking for 'must have' PSVR 2 games then look no further. These are the 10 titles every PSVR 2 owner should have in their library.

If you're wanting more PSVR 2 support, you should probably buy all of these games.

Speak with your wallet!

Profchaos41d ago

Bit rich to have to buy games you don't want because you want Sony to support the expensive headset they sold us which cost as much as the console it runs on beyond paying third partys to support it.
Seriously in terms of first party we have horizon on day 1 and a gt 7 vr mode.

They seemingly have made little effort to support it beyond paying Capcom to make re games in VR or a second party studio to make firewall which was mismanaged.

I'm a day 1 psvr2 user and the only thing I'm excited for right now is PC support.

I commented recently this bespoke VR game development model we have right now clearly doesn't work

crazyCoconuts41d ago

On the one hand I feel like there's been plenty of smaller non-AAA games to play and occupy me as a supplement to my flat screen gaming.
But I agree that Sony has done nothing to elevate this beyond the niche it's in and into the mainstream where it would be economical to create AAA games for it.

Babadook740d ago (Edited 40d ago )

Most of these games are worth owning for most people; I own all but 2 of them in fact. So I agree with kevco33. I think you're crazy if you downplay this list quite frankly. Sony can't keep funding software if people don't buy any of it, the ball is squarely in OUR court.

Sony has spent a lot on 3rd party stuff this gen like RE.

phoenixwing41d ago (Edited 41d ago )

Saving up for the headset is my first hurdle. Let alone buying games I don't want lol

mudakoshaka40d ago

People downvoting you for not having enough finances...what a world we live in, haha

phoenixwing40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

@mudako
They feel affronted at the very thought that I don't plunk down 500 immediately lol I have a little over 900 games in my backlog I've been buying games instead of hardware ever since I got my PC and ps5. I just don't know if vr is really for me honestly. Every time I have a couple hundred allocated to video games it makes more sense to buy a bunch of flat games instead of vr ones

mudakoshaka41d ago

I have 9 out of these 10 games. I try to buy all the VR games I like to support the advancement of VR!

TheEroica40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

I spoke with my wallet after watching the first headset get weak support. Easy pass until Sony earns my money. Feel bad for those who parted with 500 bucks, falling for the hype that Sony was actually gonna support this thing.

Neonridr41d ago

I own 7 of these titles off the list, lol.

NotoriousWhiz41d ago

I'm trying to decide if it's worth holding onto my psvr 2. I enjoy what it has currently, but it seems unlikely to get anything else. Might be better off just waiting for something with more support if that ever comes.

Profchaos40d ago

As a fellow psvr2 owner the question seemingly comes down to do you own a PC.

I think I'm all in I have a habit to hold onto my systems anyhow I still have my psvr1 to hell I still have my NES.

But while it's still worth something yeah you could sell it and if Sony turns the ship around you should be able to buy another one for less than you soldmit for I feel like we won't see any fix for the headset for the next 2 years rumours show that Sony has no current first party VR games in active development after they closed London studios

The whole psvr2 situation has left me feeling a little burnt on PlayStation as a whole to be honest. The first psvr felt experimental but it was supported far more than this superior headset

MIDGETonSTILTS1741d ago

GT7 surprised me, because I hate racing games, but i poured 100 hours into it way too quickly.

I’m looking forward to the Metro VR game this year, and I hope that WW2 dogfighter game releases eventually.

talocaca41d ago

I have most of them 😅

Waiting for a sale on Synapse and Arizona Sunshine 2.....also Metro coming this year looks great.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Was Devastated With Bugs A Month Before Launch

The Resident Evil 4 remake's director has revealed in a recent documentary that the game was riddled with bugs in its final month before launch.

Rebel_Scum57d ago

Not a big surprise really. All games are pretty rough until the very end and everything is released with bugs regardless of how the consumer quantifies it as being “polished.”

CrimsonWing6957d ago

That’s sort of how game development or any kind of software development goes. Looking for bugs and debugging, QA, and trying to scramble and polish everything before a deadline’s up.
