So elegant and simple. Can't wait to get mine.

Lightning Mr Bubbles464d ago

I don't know.., VR1 was pretty much a total failure. I want to like VR, I think it has potential but they need to take advantage of it right. VR is good for 2 things mainly, horror and fan service. And it seems they are just too chicken to do the fan service thing.

I'm thinking of how much potential it would have if they started making more Japanese visual novels in VR. Once I start seeing more anime type fan service games, I would be totally sold. But I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon since Playstation keeps wanting to censor those types of games.

“VR1 was pretty much a total failure…. good for 2 things mainly, horror and fan service. And it seems they are just too chicken to do the fan service thing.”

Yikes.

Psvr was amazing. Amazing experiences and software in my experience. It was the market leader and for good reason too. I don’t want to be sucked into fan service either.

Nacho_Z464d ago

If it was a total failure there wouldn't be a VR2. As far as I can tell from available info it was a modest success and imo built a foundation for greater successes in the very near future.

Don't agree with your viewpoints on the medium at all, Japanese visual novels in VR would be the last thing I'd consider a good use of it.

HICK464d ago

Lol you have no idea what you're talking about

gobluesamg464d ago

Look at the complete lack of people that agree with you and perhaps change your tune.

MEGANE464d ago

I agree with u on the visual novel type of thing, but PSVR1 was not a failure.

jznrpg463d ago

I think Visual Novels would be good in VR. But I disagree with everything else you said .

PureBlood464d ago

Me too. And I bought a G29 wheel for GT7!

Knushwood Butt464d ago

I have a G29 and Playseat. Can't wait!

HICK464d ago

Same here. Make sure to check out some of the easy, cheap mods you can do to the G29 that make it quite a bit better

Knushwood Butt464d ago

Thanks, yeah, I actually bought an eraser to drop into the brake pedal spring but have been voo lazy to install it!

psplova464d ago (Edited 464d ago )

I'm with you. Got a G923 steering wheel & pedal set, the shifter (along with a mod for it), and an NLR GT Lite (along with a cup holder) to mount it all on.. ; )

Cannot wait.

Edit: also picked up that sweet looking psvr2 headset/charging stand combo by Collective Minds on Amazon..

Bathyj464d ago

I got that too.
It looks so slick it looks like it's supposed to come with it. It's gonna sit right on the bench beside my G29.

Profchaos464d ago

Same also had to go pickup gt7 and re8 while they were on sale to

Eidolon463d ago (Edited 463d ago )

I was going to pre-order it until some financial constraints arose. I have a feeling it won' be as hard to buy as PS5, and am very much hoping I can rent some PSVR2 titles from Gamefly. It's not backwards compatible with PSVR1 games, and not certain if compatibility patches or versions will be without and extra charge.

Knushwood Butt463d ago

Some cases are offering a free upgrade from the PSVR version to the PSVR2 version. Some are not.

Soo beautiful, the future is almost here!

S2Killinit464d ago

My sentiments exactly. I cant help but to feel we are at the start of the future of gaming here.

Sonic1881464d ago

The future for who? The casual or the hardcore?

Eonjay464d ago

The future for everyone. Flat gaming was the first. VR is the second. The third will be something akin to the matrix but that is at least 30 years off. One form of gaming doesn't render the next useless. Flat gaming will still be around bet it shouldn't be the end of innovation. Neither should VR.

464d ago
Bathyj464d ago

Do you need a pigeon hole label before you can participate? Do you think VR gaming can't be hardcore? If you think that maybe you are casual.

jznrpg463d ago

Most things are made for the hardcore first and the casuals follow . If it’s made with casuals in mind first I generally don’t play a lot those games anyway.
CoD , Madden ,Minecraft etc don’t interest me at all.

Sweeeeeeeeeet.

Man Im counting the seconds till I pop that GT7 into this baby.

1Victor464d ago

@S2 “ Man Im counting the seconds till I pop that GT7 into this baby.”
For me it’s hzcotw and after both moss games

slayernz464d ago

yep horizon for me first, then not sure about gt7, RE and couple of the indie titles look amazing....one thing im curious about is if there will be a type of demo download available....reason i ask this is the wife thinks its a complete waste of time and im crazy for spending that much on it lol, so if there was a demo available she could sit through it might change her mind haha

SurgicalMenace464d ago

Tbh, as long as you're satisfied, it makes no difference whether she's convinced or not. I'm more than sure she has things she buys, which make no sense to you either.

S2Killinit464d ago

Believe me Im so on those two games as well.

Knushwood Butt464d ago

I'll be minimizing additional spending at first and just play GT7 and RE8, but that kayak game is on my list.

I bought a racing rig, seat, wheel and pedals. It's all set up and looks awesome. I'm new to this, so we'll see how I go. I'm expecting I'm going to be blown away once combined with GT7 and PSVR2! If not, I'll flog it all!

EDIT: Just thought, I might set a fan up and race in open top cars! This is going to be immense!

S2Killinit464d ago

Hahaha gotta go with that top down brother

S2K club

Knushwood Butt464d ago

I have that set up for GT Sport and PSVR and was blown away, so I very much doubt you'll be disappointed.

Nacho_Z464d ago

That sounds fantastic even for a VR veteran so for a newbie (like me) it'll probably blow your mind. GT7 with the full setup is about as good as gaming gets.

Enjoy mate.

i dont want vr, (even though i tried psvr 1, and google cardboard, also owned an LG passive 3d tv, at one point, and tried a sony active 3d tv, in electronics store; loved them all) reason being im short of time as it is!!

but love gt so much, (spesh this new one) GT SPORT changed my mind on Gran Turismo, i used to think it was slow and boring, and only like mario kart type racers, however due to al the hard work by Polyphony making the driver rating and etiquette rating, wei can play people at our own level, it also allows you to get good cars straight out the box, not the best, but certainty fast enough for fun. Upon loading Gt sport it gave you 5 examples of wiked sport cars, a far cry from gt 1,2,3,4,5,6, which would start you in a rusty ol' banger and make you slave to earn a good car., and GT7 continues this and reinforces Gt is now for everyone, and it now fun! always had a class leading soundtrack too. seeing as sony has music side business they get exclusive tunes and have a vast selection!

i digress, i dont want psvr2, but for GT7-, might just get it just for this experience.

S2Killinit464d ago

To each there own. I can respect that. Im personally going to love anything they make that is quality. Be it GT7, or Pavlov.

Neonridr464d ago (Edited 464d ago )

only thing that irks me is they make their boxes relatively cheap looking. This is comparing to other VR headsets and the boxes they come in. Oh well, only 12 more days, can't wait!

Eonjay464d ago

This particular box looks pretty good actually. It doubles as storage.

Neonridr464d ago (Edited 464d ago )

that's fair, I just don't like how easy the cardboard rips, especially on the outer sleeve. I'm in no way trashing the actual product as that is the real meat and potatoes here. But sometimes the small things make it even that much more special. The storage box is a nice touch though.

SurgicalMenace464d ago

The box, really? Just...man...carry on.

Neonridr464d ago

@SurgicalMenace - it's a small bone to pick I know, but even my Rift and Index came with really nice boxes. Makes you feel like you are getting a premium product.

To each their own I guess, I'm still going to use the headset.

ocelot07464d ago

I got the quest 2 when it was actually a quest 2 and not meta quest. The slide off cardboard easily ripped on mine first time opening it.

Neonridr464d ago

@ocelot07 - I think my original PSVR box was ok, but I know the Aim Controller ripped when putting the cardboard box back in the sleeve. It's not a deal breaker, but if I'm spending $500+ on a product it would be a nice bonus.

S2Killinit464d ago

Yeah the box is nothing to write home about but it will do. Also if I remember correctly the prior one couldnt double ip as storage and I always had issie with that cause I got dogs hehehe

SurgicalMenace464d ago

No big deal, don't take me seriously, I was just playing around. Reminded me of when my kids were babies and found more interest in the box than the actual toy.🤣
