The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has rated the unannounced Sonic Origins Plus.
Gearing up for its launch later this month, Sega has shared some gameplay footage from Sonic Origins Plus. This expanded version of last year's compilation game has a bunch of new features, but the main pull here is its inclusion of all 12 Sonic games released for the Game Gear. However, it seems that their grand debut on modern hardware isn't going to be as great as fans had hoped.
Thankfully I'm no where near the Sega fan I once was. Looks like I'll be skipping this Origins collection as well. But hey they say third times the charm. Maybe with Sonic Origins ++ Sega will get its shit together. 😕
Sonic Origins Plus is what the original should have been (minus the audio issues)
The real Sonic Origins Plus should have included more games like Sonic Rush or Knuckles Chaotix
Hit movies, a great 3D game, a co-op sidescroller, a murder mystery visual novel. There is something for every Sonic fan right now.
We did have it good. The sonic og cartoons and sonic x, the sonic games (sonic 1-3 and Sonic adventure 1-2). We had it good. Also sonic shuffle a good party game for the DC. Spent countless hours playing that game single player or with siblings.
Oh look at that, we did have it good. This article is dumb.
Ahhh. Did you forget the 90’s? When Sonic was at it’s peak. Or were you too young or not alive to really understand that?
Sonic fans were eating good in the 90's and early 00's. There was plenty of Sonic content to go around.
SEGA is making some big changes to Sonic Origins with the expanded re-release, Sonic Origins Plus. Comprising a new playable character in Amy, Knuckles playable in Sonic CD, and a dozen newly added Game Gear games, it's a clear effort from the publisher to turn the retro collection's fortunes around. While it's catching a bit of flack for excluding the Master System versions, fans are largely quite excited for the changes.
However, Sonic Team hasn't been dealing with this on its own. Indie developer Headcannon — known for leading development on the acclaimed Sonic Mania — has confirmed its involvement in this new package.
That's excellent now bring that arcade game to consoles and I'm complete frfr
Kinda baffling why they didn't use the Master System versions of the games, not even sure why they felt the need to zoom in so much with the Game Gear versions, would've been nice if you could choose zoomed in or not.
I mean, Frontiers seemed to come out pretty solid. So there's that.
But it's sad that this amateur team is outdoing the main Sonic Team at this point.
I knew this would happen so I'm glad I held off
Only issue is will they add a lot more? Other Sonic games should be added, especially ones not seen as much.
Sonic the Hedgehog (8-bit)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit)
Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble
Sonic Blast
Sonic Chaos
Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure
Sonic Spinball
And a secret bonus game
Knuckles' Chaotix
I held off of origins because it wasn't in a good state at launch more content is good but I'm still not buying until it's fixed.
Every few months I see origins go on sale and I check up to see the state of patches and overall discourse surrounding it and I'm still not convinced it's as good as it could be.
I'm very hopeful that this fixes the problems and possibly adds a few extra games but I feel like that's asking to much as they would be more likely to release another batch of games as a full price title like the game gear / master system sonic games and spinball.
Situation reminds me a lot of the old sonic mega collection/ gems collection
I’ll buy this for PS for my two 6 year old daughters . They love Sonic games old and newer
Yes, but did they fix the terrible blur filter making it look far worse than the Sonic CD port on PS3 / X360 / PC (which was developed outside of Sonic Team, and instead by fans)? Because it was borderline unplayable for me because of that.
