Hogwarts Legacy might bring some warm nostalgia for Harry Potter fans, but a lack of imagination holds back an otherwise boilerplate open-world adventure.
Shahmeer from eXputer: "I've always wondered whether the success of Hogwarts Legacy had much to do with nostalgia. The RPG is great but certainly not free of issues."
I still haven’t finished it, mostly due to it not holding my interest after 20 hours. Wouldn’t say it’s a bad game, wouldn’t say it’s amazing I really can’t judge it fully due to not completing it.
Harry Potter is one of the biggest IPs in the world. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why it sold so much. It’s a great game on top of that, so the math kind of maths here.
Can’t wait for the article on if Zelda or Mario only sold well due to nostalgia.
ngl, it got me in the first half hour
after that, a big let down, mediocre at every step
only fans are praising it
It's still a good game almost time for a 2nd playthrough, the passion they put into it is🔥🔥 crazy how after a couple months or a year folks get to complaining about this n that about certain games smh childish mfs
A Hogwarts Legacy player came across a gigantic tree under Bakar's tower, which might be hiding a grotto in it.
Beyond the routine of completing quests and hunting for mysterious places, there are tons of additional methods to enjoy Hogwarts Legacy. One such way is the creation of a stunning and content-rich Vivarium, as done by a Reddit user Zvak-Keh.
Lack of imagination 😂 I'd say it's the complete opposite. Always one
"That’s where J. K. Rowling herself, the author with a history of making transphobic comments and who stands to profit from the game’s success, comes into play.
Avalanche has clearly tried to distance itself from Rowling’s hateful remarks, going as far as to allow players to create a transgender hero. Though in staying true to the franchise’s rich mythology, the narrative is ultimately still at the mercy of the author’s worldview. "
Yeah f*** off with that bs 😂
Political review, nothing to see here
You guys can quit your bullsh*t smear campaign. Anyone with eyes and a brain can tell you this is not a 5/10 game.
There is no boiler plate open world adventure about this game and the sense of imagination is one of its most stand out features.
Look, as someone who can’t stand the open-world Ubisoft like formula with so much busy work I can tell you honestly, this is one of the most fun open-world games where I do not feel overwhelmed with all the typical busy work routine things you’d find in most-open world games.
I’m not a Potter fan. I don’t hate the movies or anything, they’re fine, it’s just I can take it or leave it sort of thing. I will say exploring Hogwarts has been full of such awe and gave me this joy of like being a kid back in the 80s and watching the movies that brought that magic to the screen. It’s hard to explain but it captures a sense I don’t typically feel in games and it’s been really great.
If you’re even slightly interested in the game I can’t recommend it enough. The crazy part is I wasn’t really hyped on this, but was shocked at how detailed the world is and how much fun it is to play. Definitely a contender for Game of the Year for me.
There's always one...
