With its stunning recreation of beloved Harry Potter landmarks and thrilling combat, Hogwarts Legacy definitely has its moments. Sadly, it tries to do too much all at once, and never quite settles into a comfortable rhythm, or leverages the player experience against the established laws of the wizarding world.
Shahmeer from eXputer: "I've always wondered whether the success of Hogwarts Legacy had much to do with nostalgia. The RPG is great but certainly not free of issues."
I still haven’t finished it, mostly due to it not holding my interest after 20 hours. Wouldn’t say it’s a bad game, wouldn’t say it’s amazing I really can’t judge it fully due to not completing it.
Harry Potter is one of the biggest IPs in the world. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why it sold so much. It’s a great game on top of that, so the math kind of maths here.
Can’t wait for the article on if Zelda or Mario only sold well due to nostalgia.
ngl, it got me in the first half hour
after that, a big let down, mediocre at every step
only fans are praising it
It's still a good game almost time for a 2nd playthrough, the passion they put into it is🔥🔥 crazy how after a couple months or a year folks get to complaining about this n that about certain games smh childish mfs
A Hogwarts Legacy player came across a gigantic tree under Bakar's tower, which might be hiding a grotto in it.
Beyond the routine of completing quests and hunting for mysterious places, there are tons of additional methods to enjoy Hogwarts Legacy. One such way is the creation of a stunning and content-rich Vivarium, as done by a Reddit user Zvak-Keh.
Sitting at 85 on metacritic. Impressive.
“ Cons
-An uneasy relationship with the wizarding world”
“My memories from being on set of the movies are fast fading, and the principal cast of those films are also all grown up – in the news for speaking out against author J.K. Rowling and her hurtful rhetoric against the transgender community. Perhaps the magic of Harry Potter has slowly eroded and, for a great many, can never be completely repaired.”
Real journalisming right here /s
Everything looks and sounds great to me. All except I read there's a level cap but it sounded weird. I hope it isn't true. It won't kill the game for me but it's definitely a downer
I have to say that this game has done a great service to gamers by illustrating which sites and publications can be trusted as unbiased reviewers and which are focused mainly on political motivations. It is sad that even the hobby of gaming cannot escape the vapid hellscape that is identity politics, but here we are. Time to cross gamesradar off the short list. They actually used to be one of my favorites.
The confirmation bias is brilliant 🤣 Those hoping Forspoken tanked flooded the bad reviews and ignored the good. Now HP fans flooding the good, even IGN and ignoring the rest. The reviews are sounding like a 6.5-7.5 but scoring higher 🤔 The same knocks other games get are somehow overlooked. That’s nostalgia for ya. ill own both and not be deluded by online bandwagoning and gaming as political feedback to so-called “wokeness” for and against.
