Gran Turismo 7 in PSVR2: New Footage and Hands-On First Impressions

Jordan Says: I just got back from a trip to PlayStation’s North American headquarters where I had the chance to be one of the first people to play Gran Turismo 7 on the PSVR2, and I’m here to tell you all about it.

Now that the full game can be played in VR, it’s not just a gimmick or a technical showcase — it transforms the whole experience. The PSVR2 is a seriously good piece of hardware, and the way it provides a plug-and-play experience is worth a lot on its own.

PS VR 2 is the real deal. No one can ever say again about tech demos and short experiences.

Full game. Full grid. Weather. Time of day. Online and offline play. Case closed. Same with RE8. And the rest of the full games coming.

Sony's taking high fidelity VR to the next level. Just remember, one company promised. But Sony delivered.

What are you writing ads for Sony now? Cue up the dramatic background music 😉

ApocalypseShadow465d ago (Edited 465d ago )

I'll remember the next time you make comments on who you are making ads for.

Either you're excited for PS VR 2 because Sony didn't hold back on the quality for the headset or controllers. Day one there are games that are full immersion like flat which is what VR gamers wanted. Or uninterested in VR because not everyone plays in VR or can play because of personal nausea. Which is okay to be. Or just a NAYSAYER.

Which one are you crazy? But it's not like I care really.

crazyCoconuts465d ago

I've never been uninterested in VR... I think you have me confused with someone else.
I'm just playfully razzing you for being so dramatic, nothing serious... I'll try to be gentler with you on the future

Neonridr465d ago

I'm just excited for VR period. I've always been a huge backer behind the tech. PC VR delivered 1st gen, Sony looks to be taking that next step. I can't wait to see what comes beyond this both in the PC and console space for VR as well. It's not like you have to only support one.

Genuinely pmsl :)

RE 8 will be the full game as well.

ApocalypseShadow465d ago (Edited 465d ago )

Yes sir. And more are coming. That eye tracking and foveated rendering is making gamers believers. If Facebook is smart, they'll skip a generation and put eye tracking and foveated rendering in Quest 3. It would allow the stand alone to really push the detail and not have to work as hard with a battery draining CPU.

Then, games would look really good across mobile, PC and console. Higher quality is what everyone wants.

That was WAY more informative than IGN

generic-user-name465d ago

To throw IGN a bone, GTPlanet is dedicated to GT so they'll be picking up on things that maybe casual GT players like Ryan McCaffrey might not.

Honestly if gt7 were the only game id still buy psvr2. The immersion and perspective vr gives in racing games is unmatched. But im also glad theres 30+ launch titles many with free upgrades. Absolutely cant wait just wish they could narrow the deliver window down from an entire week.

EazyC465d ago

I've literally bought it for GT7 alone. Pavlov looks cool too

EvertonFC464d ago

I can see GT7 selling 1million VR2 headsets alone tbh.

eagle21465d ago

I agree with both of you!! Gran Turismo 7 is amazing and this is simply NEXT LEVEL!!!! :)

IRetrouk465d ago

120fps in each eye!!! How????

Destiny1080465d ago

it uses reprojection to double the framerate from 60fps to 120fps but the PSVR2 can run games at 90fps or 120 fps natively without reprojection

eagle21465d ago

That's beyond impressive!

S2Killinit464d ago

Foveated rendering frees up rendering power from what I gather.

IRetrouk464d ago

Yeah, the early previews seem really impressed with it
